Pick one: meteorite dial or platinum watch?

I’m a woman with relatively small wrists, so I’m looking at a 31mm sized Datejust. I have a number of SS Rolex watches on oyster bracelets (including 29mm, 34mm and 36mm), and have my MIL’s 26mm gold ladies’ President. It’s just too tiny to read, and white metal watches look better with my skin tone. But, I do enjoy the comfort and looks of the President bracelet. So, I am looking at the 31mm DJ ladies’ President-bracelet models.

In my price range, I can get a platinum 31mm Datejust, on the President bracelet. The meteorite dial is also very appealing, but it would have to be on a watch that’s not a platinum President, eg an oyster or jubilee.

I do enjoy watch dials, and have the SS/platinum Yachtmaster (my avatar photo).

As I know we have a number of members with meteorite dial watches, and also platinum watches, my question is: which do you enjoy more? Wearing a platinum watch on a President? Or, your meteorite dial? If you had to pick one or the other, which would it be?

Sounds like a great collection! I personally would take platinum over the meteorite.

Platinum with meteorite would be nice, but I would pick a platinum with ice blue dial if I had to choose between plat and meteorite

I think Rolex once did a platinum day date 36 with a meteorite dial.

Expensive, but covers all bases

Responding to your specific question, I'd go 36DD in platinum over Met dial,
Having said that, you can search for preowned one, which combines both.

There is nothing like the heft feel of platinum on the wirst

I have both meteorite dial watches and platinum watches.

I think the meteorite dials are absolutely stunning and would choose one of these in gold rather than the weight of platinum with a normal dial.

I’d vote meteorite in white gold, if that’s an option in your size.

Love mine!

Great collection and question . I have a meteorite Daytona and love the meteorite dial….but choosing only one I think platinum is king and the metal is more important than the dial

Both are awesome but I’d lean towards the platinum watch.

Me too. The meteorite is an incredible dial, but the one that I tried on I actually had difficulty reading the hands at a glance. The hands kind of blended in. Plus, IMHO, a platinum watch is the ultimate.

Don’t forget to post pics!

I am going to be honest. I think more people here are not. I do not get the meteorite dial. It is not a good look and if I had a billion dollars it would be the last I get, unless I was in NASA. So Platinum!

Meteorite, Mother of Pearl, Stone, and Wood, all are natural materials so no two dials have the same pattern.

That is what some people cherish, their uniqueness.

Disagree.

The meteorite dial is one of the coolest, and of all the hype watches, dials, or trends… the meteorite lives up to it.

OP: it’s personal preference- if I had to choose between my DD platinum (ice blue dial), or 126719 meteorite dial, I would go platinum DD, but it would be close, and I hope I never have to make that decision.

Have you considered this? I love it, and would consider it for my spouse if my AD ever gets one…

If you like the way platinum wears, go with that.

I personally don't, so I would go meteorite. I mean I like gold and the way it wears, but platinum is just too much of a good thing.

If I had to choose 1 over the other it would be meteorite, I absolutely love them and I am waiting patiently for one to arrive from my AD.

I'm not sure what the ladies options are like but the WG meteorite diamond dial DD is something truly remarkable.
