16710 (Cal 3185 / 3186) Date Disc Compatibility

Hey guys,

Long sentimental story short I want to switch my 16710 date disc to a Chinese characters one.

It looks like one for a cal 3135 will work with my 16710's cal 3185 / 3186 (I haven't checked which it is, yet).

Few questions for you:

1) Will this work?
2) Are there non-OEM parts for stuff like this?

I do appreciate the sanctity of original parts and everything, but since this is a franken-mod anyways...

sorry you're not getting any responses to this, i don't know the answer but maybe the best thing to do - if you haven't already done this - is to ask an independent watch maker.

All the better if you have the part number(s) for the date wheels you're looking at too although i'd guess a watch maker would know. If you don't have a local watch maker to reach out to i'm sure people here could point you towards someone depended on where you're located.

All 3135 date discs are compatible with 3155, 3175, 3185, 3186.
The 3136 and 3156 use a slightly different one due to different proportions of the movement, as they're housed by the larger DJ2 and DD2.

Chinese is not a common one but is still available to order for watchmakers. You can request a language change during a service at RSC. A date wheel will run you about €80 of additional cost.
