Got a call...
After almost a two year wait, I got a call from the Brighton branch of Watches of Switzerland in the UK.
They had the explorer 36 that I had expressed interest in back then. The first call was yesterday and a guy left a message. I didn't know it was WOS since the message was garbled. Today, a lady phoned me and began with "It was a while ago but can you remember....". She was very polite and professional. I asked her if it was the new 40mm or the outgoing 36 model. She told me that the 36 is still in production. I'm not sure about that myself, but she said that she'd transfer me to the list for the 40mm. I get the feeling they are running out of options to place this watch so if you want an explorer 36, give them a buzz. |

Seems like a good sign. My AD had a TT 36 for sale in the window last week. Don't know if it's still there.

You should have grabbed it. From the many wrist shots I’ve seen, the 36 is just cooler…. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Agreed, the 36 is a classic.

Never buy a watch that doesn’t excite you.
While many here call the 36 classic (and I agree that’s then classic SIZE), I don’t love the current 36 version. If I wanted a 36 Exp I would go back a few references maybe to the last tritium version. The current 36 doesn’t look great to me, can’t really explain it. Haven’t seen a 40 in person but I am intrigued. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

WoS are starting to upsell models that are going by the same or less than retail price to the general public now, and Exp 1 being one of them.
I've seen so far YG Sub & SkyD, WG Sub, RG SkyD OF, two tone Exp 1 being touted by the sales in WoS/Pragnell London in the past few weeks, bearing in mind these sales are greedy bastards and when they try to upsell you the one you couldn't get before, you know the market is getting shite. if you don't mind 2nd hand you might save some cash buying from the flippers BNIB. |
