Would u do the trade ?

If trade this DaytonaC white dial , full set, Feb-2023 to the rose gold DayDate chocolate dial , NO Card .., the seller need 8K extra .
What do u think about this trade?

Always think about this rose gold DayDate configuration , but my AD can’t get me one

The picture of DD from Insta.,

I wouldn’t.

I don’t like the No card on such a high value and modern piece.

I feel like you can get the DD from an AD too.

Just wait on the DD from your AD. I don't know how "no card" wouldn't burn a hole in my brain for such and new watch.

Plus, the m116500-0001 is my second favorite watch, period, so I would never trade or sell it.

No way, it's very strange the owner would lose a card on a modern Rolex...

I would walk away

No way. Lack of card on such a recent and expensive model is just plain strange.

I would not. I like your watch better. And the lack of the card makes it tough to sell the DD for a decent price.

No, because no card no warranty. No reassurance that it’s not stolen.

Your AD got you a white Daytona but can't get you a RG Day-Date? That's got to be a first!

Two very very different watches.

I'd keep the Daytona (and I don't even like Daytona's) purely based on the difficulty of obtaining one from AD. On the DD front I'd either express an interest on one via the traditional route - given the economy I wouldn't be surprised if you can get an allocation for one at some point in the reasonably near future - or keep an eye on the secondary market prices and possibly buy from a trusted reseller.

Either way, the lack of card on such a recent PM release would be a deal killer for me.

The lack of symmetry in the date window is a tell tale sign of a fake watch. The white space on the left and the right of the date is always the same on real Rolex watches. The font of your Daytona looks a bit thin as well, but there is some plausible deniability there...

If this is a real post, NO, please do not make that trade. You'll regret it instantly.

And please do not buy modern watches (i.e., things a few years old) without papers and/or documentation. They very well could be stolen and nobody needs to be perpetuating that problem.

Tell him you’ll trade your Daytona with NO CARD and 4K.
See what he says. As others mentioned, I’d be concerned buying
a watch with no card. I say no card no deal.

Do it!! Card means nothing. You can get it authenticated from RSC for $150. Worth more than a card

I do understand this and agree with you on the surface - an RSC authentication is likely more valuable. But, this wouldn't do anything in regards to the concern about the potential the watch has been stolen, does it?

Given the rise in watch theft, not having a card is a huge red flag. Those items simply do not get "misplaced" in today's world. If a buyer doesn't care about this and feels that a potentially stolen watch doesn't keep them up at night, I guess to each their own.

If it goes into RSC for a service and has previously been reported stolen to Rolex HQ they will notify the person who sent/brought it in and the authorities as well (in the US at least, or so other members have said). Does give some peace of mind.

As to the original question, no chance I’d trade a SS white dial Daytona I bought at retail and then add $8k on top for a DD with no papers.

I'm no daytona fan, so I probably would.
SS Daytona's around $14,500
RG DD40 is around $39,000

So you'd get a DD40 for just over $22k? Sign me up.

Maybe tell the seller you're in for the deal, but they need to send it in for a RSC service first (not indy).
It comes back with a 2 year warranty, service card, full service, and peace of mind that it's not a stolen piece.
