I’d like to see more Pepsis on G10s — there must be more of you out there with them on. I love the bracelets too, but I enjoy the less formal look and prefer them when I do watery kinds of activities for obvious reasons.

You should try the adjustable single pass NATO straps, they don't have that tail. Or you could just cut the extra bit off a normal NATO.

I sometimes swap the oyster bracelet on my 16710 for a Barton leather strap just for a little variety. I think the NATO straps make the GMT look cheap, but they can take a soaking whereas water ruins most leather straps. I don't wear the leather strap when there's rain in the forecast.

if you think you might like it, there's little downside to trying it out (and if it makes the precious Rolex crowd clutch their pearls a bit, well, bonus.....)

I stand with Stan on this one. Leave it on its original bracelet. Than again, visualizing a grunt slogging thru the jungles of Vietnam wearing a Sub on a NATO or a pilot in a B52 or F4 wearing a GMT on a NATO is cool! So the pics of older GMTs with lug holes on a NATO I don't mind.

I’ve tried them before, and to my eye, they always look best on 4 digit references. YMMV

Started wearing them when i was in the military and fell in love. Although nothing beats a folded link or rivet bracelet imo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

6 series looks horrible on nato, its way too beefy, some 5 series are okay, but the bezel kind of overpowers the strap in my opinion.
an explorer 1 on nato is the best looking Rolex model for this type of strap in my opinion. |

Looks cool. Wasn’t expecting to like it but I do. Would look even better on a sub imo.

I don't love the extra material on a nato, but I love cloth straps. Cuts down on wrist weight and de-blings it a bit. So, I keep my Deepsea on a 3 ring Zulu.
Heavy duty rings go well with the heavy diver. I like the security of the thru- strap in rough water.... if one bar fails, the watch will still be there, flopping on the second bar. (The heavy weight makes my Erika's strap lose adjustment) |

Every springbar fail I've seen on TRF has been with a nato or zulu. With shouldered bars they drag one side out of its hole. That's why the military always welded them in place.

Interesting... but I have been wearing natos and zulus for well over 30 years and I have NEVER had one fail. But if one does, I surely will know because the watch will still be there.

Natos work on GMts but you should coordinate the colors better IMO.

I rotate NATOs on and off all my Rolex and Tudor 4/5-digits! Easy enough to swap back, if you don't like it. Just picked up a genuine Phoenix Admiralty Grey Mil-spec NATO, which needs an outing!
