Opinions please…

Hello, I hope you all are doing well!

FWIW: The only watch I regret selling amongst many is the PADI mini turtle Pepsi version with a 4R35 mvmt.

There is a BNIB one on a site for $425 but all the add on fees are ridiculous and would put it over $500. My current bid is $385. I’m thinking asking price is too much for that mvmt yet more in line with its desirability these days. Should I up my bid?

Here’s my quandary… I sold it once thinking it wore too big on my 6” wrist. It is 42.3 mm. The slim turtle SPB333 I own feels much better.

I’ve recently purchased a Steinhart 39mm “Kermit” and am blown away by it’s quality, cost value etc. Contemplating a 39mm Pepsi GMT at some point with the SW330 mvmt. from Steinhart as well. On a different note the Seiko solar panda chrono has come down to the $400+ level on another site; it has the V192 mvmt. and is 39 mm. BTW… I own the BB58 and it wears perfectly.

I already have a few divers in my collection. I have no need for the GMT or Chrono functions but would just like to mix it up a bit. Being a lefty who wears watches on my Rt arm I think the pushers going towards my forearm might look too goofy or just feel weird.

Lot’s of info to sort through, I know. Lastly, I need another watch like I need a hole in my head! I’m just too far down the rabbit hole ~ hahaha.

What say you? Take the mvmt’s into consideration for quality, durability, cost etc. TIA!

I say go for what makes you happiest, of course. In some cases for a WIS (obviously) the right movement in a piece, per your desires, is the difference maker.

Do you have any wrist shots of the aforementioned watches? Whether from an AD, ones you've previously owned or tried on elsewhere. This might be helpful to some degree.

Either way, it's a good problem to have! Lots of consideration has to go into a purchase. For me I've sold watches years ago, that I now own again and will keep for life. So sometimes circling back isn't always a mistake.

Unfortunately I don’t have any wrist shots at the moment.

The pepsi mini turtle is no longer in production, hence some of the the asking prices for Preowned are quite high. My question should be, what is a fair price for the 4R35 Mvmt? At what price point would you say, nope it’s not worth it?

I was led to believe I was bidding on a BNIB one on StockX. In checking my bid just now, it states “there are no sellers to buy from right now” KatGirl ran into an issue on this site as well after a winning bid.

Cheers!

One of my issues with Seiko, at the lower price points, is that I can justify buying whatever I want. Probably why I have so many. I would not overthink it. You like it, you want it, buy it and give it some wrist time and see. Either you get it out of your system and move on or you have a cool new watch for the collection. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I totally agreed ! Don't think too much about it , if you like it, buy it. For the price of a run of the mill Rolex, you can have 20 times the happiness with Seiko.

Sage advice has been given, and followed because I lucked out on Chrono24!

A gentleman had JUST posted one yesterday, stating he wasn’t trying to make $ off the sale; he just wanted to make room in his watch box. I guess it was meant to be. He included a Crafter Blue strap as well. If I like the strap, I’ll order another one in different color & style.

Thanks for the sound advice, and the enabling push I needed.
It says something when I miss a Seiko over the luxury watches I’ve sold in the past. I hate the current hype, and the target placed on your back for wearing a high demand watch.

Pics to come…

Congratulations, Janet! Going ahead with it was definitely the only choice here.

Agreed, so much to appreciate out there with other brands, Seiko especially! Looking forward to the images once it arrives!

It’s back home again! It looks as if it was never worn; there’s not a scratch anywhere. I’m very pleased with the Chrono24 transaction as well. Thanks for talking some sense into me! Cheers
