Except they are not hard to buy. Just check secondary market. Multiple watches of the same model from the same dealer bumped numerous times with no sale.

Seems like the market is…kinda dead

Hard to buy at retail is the right way to phrase it. But these watches are not rare at all if you have the means to pay market price.

The second most coveted watch is a SS Pepsi and it’s going for $19K which is only 3-4K than a TT sub.

That breaking news is fake. “The secondary gray watch market is dead.” Maybe someone should tell them to contact Juan of Opusntime.

You can buy almost any Rolex you want, but you have to think outside the box (or AD).

I guess the news is out: Rolex is hard to buy!

Good question…
Between the naïveté psychobabble, there is a certain amount of PR going on here. Prestige (the interviewed Diamond District dealer) is a prime beneficiary.

Always consider the source and the slant. It was in the headlines and the author’s CVs. They have no business background, but do have journalism Ed.

The story was a clickbait for the newsbite video package that ran on the NYC Fox affiliate…

I’m guessing it’s really the warranty card, that can be authenticated with a special iPhone that is directly linked to Rolex. It is how AD’s start your warranty, when you pick up a brand new piece. My SA told me about it. I’m not sure how a grey dealer would gain access to one, though.
