BLRO with brushed oyster

I don’t dislike polished links but for my oyster bracelets I prefer brushed. I do them myself and the results are pretty good. IMO this is a really nice look for the 126710BLRO.

I agree, the GMTs look much better with brushed oyster bracelet.

I always use the Sub 114060 bracelet with glide-lock on the 126710s and 116610 it’s perfection!

May I ask how you brushed the PCLs? It takes a lot of confidence and guts in my opinion

Not a fan. PCL aren’t that bad. It really doesn’t make that big if a difference, it’s still the same watch for all intents and purposes and it’ll look the same to 99.99% of the population.

It’s just not worth the trouble, just wear your watch and enjoy your life.

1.) I never said PCLs are bad.
2.) I don't care what 99.99% of the population thinks about anything.
3.) Who are you to tell someone else what's worth their trouble?
4.) I'm a watchmaker. I enjoy my life immensely.

In my opinion brushed does look better and I did wonder about the bit you do them yourself but no need to ask now you are clearly skilled in doing such a process

First, you take the bracelet off. Second, put the fine brush wheel on the polishing machine. Third, use a steady hand with both hands holding the bracelet in a vertical direction and lightly put it up against the brush wheel moving your hands in a continuous side to side motion. It takes literally a couple of minutes to do if you are just doing fully brushed, a bit more longer if you are putting pcl finish on. I would not recommend a beginner doing it.

I have to say the brushed does look just a tad more "tool-like" vs the PCLs (and I have a GMT II pepsi (or coke or just black bezels). PCLs, to me anyway, have a little more "jewelry" look to them - which I am fine with (as on my daytonas, and YM)

I think the brushed finish looks good. I do get why Rolex went with PCLs on the GMT-Master II when the six digit models came out. It's the same reason they increased the size of the Explorer II. I believe Rolex was trying to draw more contrast between the Submariner, GMT-Master II, and Explorer II. Upsizing the Explorer II made sense to create a size contrast. The GMT-Master II they sort of pivoted to a "business traveler's watch" than just a pilot watch. They gave it a slightly more flashy, less blue-collar look by adding the PCLs. I think it was a subtle way to contrast with the brushed Submariner. That's just my hypothesis anyway.

I always through the 126710BLRO looked better on brushed Oyster but I changed my mind when I swapped mine onto a bracelet from an 116610. Nice fit, nice feel, but just didn't look right to me. I have it on a Jubilee now and that's where it's staying. In this configuration it's more of an homage to the original 6542, as is the ceramic insert.

Weird, I'm not fan of PCLs, so in theory I *should* like this brushed-finish but ... somehow I don't. I can't really put it into words, but I think the fully brushed bracelet makes the watch look ... a tad lifeless. Like someone really boisterous and jolly has been asked to sit down and be quiet.
