Cherry blossom (should've purchased you years ago)

picked up today from the on-line GS boutique and has not left my wrist or eyes all day. that dial is absolutely sublime

first GS from a long time Rolex fan-boy and could not be any more happier

Sensational! Ignore if not appropriate but does the on-line boutique offer any discounts or include anything to incentivize over grey or pre-owned?

Congrats and agree. Dial is top tier, especially the way it plays in light.

Very nice case design and the dial really stands out without being over the top. What is the dial face a meteorite dial or maybe a Mother of Pearl? Congrats on a special acquisition. The calendar window at 3:00 seems to balance better then some other models at the 4:00 position in my opinion.

I actually don't know. it is not a meteorite dial that's for sure. Maybe some GS watch nerd can chime in

I think their dials are stamped, possibly more than once to achieve the desired texture, then surface treated and painted over several layers.

Huge congrats on a gorgeous watch. I had a similar experience with the SBGA415, the Winter version from the same collection. Coming from someone who wore almost exclusively Rolex for years, the GS blew my mind. I've had it for over 2 years now and can honestly say it's the best watch I've ever owned.

One last thing to mention is don't be afraid to wear it. It looks like a work of art with the polishing and gorgeous dial, but it can go anywhere with you. I've worn mine nearly 24/7 for the past two years and it has been on hikes, biking, playing rough with the kids, you name it, and it looks wonderful. Still keeps time to +6 sec/month just like when I first got it.

Cheers buddy.

so first — congrats! — and second, I bought the SBGP017 and as someone with a quartz alternative I'd love to hear your opinions about the spring drive and how much it drove your decision vs. the dial.

Yeah, a beauty. That one (the spring) and the winter version are my favourite two GS models besides the model I already own (a SBGY029 Karesansui). So comfortable in titanium, and I like seeing the power meter on the amazing dial. It adds a lot of interest.

Great Picture! - never been able to get a good picture of the pink coloration on the dial.

The SBGA413 is my first luxury watch. When I walked into the nearby Rolex dealer, to scope out a date-just (wife) and explorer (me), the dealer noticed the watch which started a conversation which... lets hope is leads to 'the call'.
