No offense taken - I really value your opinion and contributions to this site!

My post wasn't specifically referring to me thinking the Bucci collaboration was awful (in fact the Holo flat dial and ceramic) was quite well done.

I was more referencing these continued collaborations, joint ventures, one-offs, more or less LEs floating around constantly.

It's such an iconic brand and design, does it really need another weird collab? I'd rather see AP do more homages to their archive in a modern way, slim down some watches (code, ROC) than these weird fashionista pieces.

I think I'm getting old.

I like what AP offered in the past. Maybe I'm not a hippy or just not educated enough to appreciate their recent offerings.

Does this brand have staying power? How would I feel in 5 years when this designer has moved on to something else and the brand is gone or not as hot?

Most of the other recent collaborations, like them or not, don't seem to have this issue. Marvel isn't going anywhere, Bucci are just nice pieces and can stand on their own, the music editions, well, are about music.

I don't know, this one is kind of weird to me.

Since this is a collab with a fashion label the watch is only meant to be worn for one season. So the potential issue you are describing should not occure at all if worn as intended.

I can't help but chuckle at the thought of spending ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS on a fast fashion item, which you wear for one season and then donate to Goodwill. It's the financial equivalent of a couple cars, not a graphic tee. That's why I don't get these whatsoever to be honest. It just doesn't feel timeless like most higher horology, feels quite trendy.

It is more like what Adidas or casio does. Hope to see less such X collaboration with a fashion label, especially when the label is on the dial. Imagine seeing more of this type of collaboration, X supreme, etc ... Disaster

AP website posted prices. Chrono and offshore both 110k. You can do a lot with 110k in terms of watches. It could be a whole collection.

AP really never got over Hublot stealing their screw design on the bezel and now, in turn, seems to try to steal Hublots "every single watch is a LE and / or a collab with some brand" concept lol.

But in all seriousness, I do like the ROO in white gold quite a bit. Super impractical without the chrono counters but looks fun. And I lack the wrist to pull it of tbh.

I personally wouldn't get one, but I can see the appeal (minimalistic, refreshing twist on a classic) - also, I suppose they are highly limited? So for sure they'll find a few hip / wealthy people who are happy to snatch them up ...

Hmm, well that's interesting I suppose. I'll go looking around for any discarded ones at the second hand shop in a year or so I guess.

This being said, the 37mm in gold is actually quite cool and the one I would pick out of the collection.
The chrono and offshores are just too much for my eyes to handle and my brain to process, sorry, can't get on board with a chrono without counters. I know that Rolex gave us a Day Date without any day nor date, but at least the humor of using emojis made it cool...
At the end of the day they will sell...
A statement piece? for ugliness? It looks horrible and they have butchered the RO and they keep butchering it.

The RO was one of my favorite watches and designs but ever since the hype a couple of years ago it became TOO much, overdone, too many silly editions. Such a shame.

Not a fan of these new watches or the brand. It is difficult to see a course for AP as they appear to go in so many directions.

Exactly why I don't give AP much time. This brand is turning into a joke

All this critisism. I wonder why those people still follow the brand and take the effort to post something on a forum like this.

I am quite aware of the Alyx Brand. I wouldn't consider it compatible with AP but what do I know. I quite like the minimalism and the monochrome. I would like to see the outlines of sub dials though.

I have yet to click on the prices!

What sort of quantities would these be made in?

I don't know why, but the dial reminds me of a movado watch.

As an aside a collaboration with Marvel is absolutely baffling and I used to run a comic shop.....

Because it's a watch forum under the AP section and designed to discuss opinions (both good and bad)? Would you like to rather discuss the merits of an interest rate hike in the AP forum?

Btw, I have and also a fan of Adidas, casio , 1017 Alyx 9SM and supreme . This collaboration is just too weird. I hope the incoming CEO knows what is a truly historical watch brand is.

One criticises someone and something in life, family members, friends , cars and etc.... doesn't mean he will abandon them.

Hublot was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the 'chrono'.

I quite like the.white gold Offshore model however the price seems to be very steep for what it is.

Agreed I actually like these a lot. In person the brushed finish of the dial combining with the bracelet must make it absolutely pop in person. AP already has some of the loudest designs in high horology so it may not be for everyone but I think it absolutely fits the brand.

It does not… not even close… Perhaps u should take a look at Urwerk/ MB&F/ Vianney Halter and Greubel to name a few..
