BB Harrods

Just got an email from Harrods mentioning the watch is available online to purchase. I tried to add to shopping cart and it added it. Seems its available.

Not sure if this is old news so apologise if not.

Someone mentioned it here in passing the other day but it's worth repeating if true, which it seems to be.

I agree. 40 CAD for shipping to Canada. Cheaper than ordering a RubberB strap.

Yes. It’s outrageous. I am not entirely sure how Harrod’s came to that amount. For 3800 USD, I think that’s good value.

Congratulations, it’s a great looking Tudor. I think mine is numbered at around 1200 on the case back. Purchased in 2019 ?

Ship it to someone in the states and pick it up if you want one. Perhaps a member near the border.

Surprised these are still available. What numbers are they up to and will they keep going until they can not engrave the amount of digits on the reverse!

It becomes available now and seems to have 5 to sell. You can try but not sure if this is a system error.

Pounds or dollars?

I would expect you would pay duties. Check your government website for rate based on categories.

I agree. Based on an article from valueyourwatch on US customs fees for wristwatches:

Movement – Flat fee of $1.53
Case – 4.2%
Bracelet/Band – 9.8% for textile/metal, 2% for others (9102.21.90 US HTS code)

Apply to the Tudor:

Movement - $1.53
Case: $161.74
Bracelet: 377.39

Total : $540.66 for entry into the US (14% of the retail price, which the buyer will have to pay in order to take receipt of the watch). I still see this as a good value if the trade off is you're buying BNIB from Harrods.

US Buyers who get theirs via the site, let us know how this piece of puzzle the goes.

Okay $540.66, does anyone know how it works, do you pay the shipper for the fees or after it gets delivered. Never done this before?

My math may be off here as the same article says that it depends on what is declared for movement, case, and bracelet. The article says it is more typically 5-8% total. Again, US buyers, let us know how it goes.

From Harrods:

To make worldwide shipping easy, we have included duties and taxes in the product price where possible. Duties and taxes will be included and shown at the Checkout for the following countries:

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Channel Islands (Guernsey and Jersey), Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Republic of Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE, United Kingdom (including Isle of Man) and United States.

If a DAP (Delivery at Place) destination is selected (which is typically selected by customers outside of the destinations listed above), the price you pay to Harrods will exclude all relevant import duties and sales taxes. As the recipient of the order, you must instead pay these duties and taxes directly to our carrier to release your order from Customs. As we are unable to advise you on the exact cost for the taxes and duties, we recommend contacting your local Customs office or tax authority before placing a DAP order.

From my experience with UPS and FedEx, you pay through their websites. UPS has a flat processing fee. I believe it was 10 CAD.

This is the only Tudor that has even interested me (so far) because of its superficial resemblance to the 16610LV. Traveling into London to order one and subsequently collect it was not a huge problem, but a good excuse for not spending money. That just changed.

I would love to get a BB

But I just can’t do it until they put the T-Fit on it - I just have to have it.

Seemingly such a simple thing to do.

Also - I think Tudor deserves its own forum section

These are my thoughts.

Same. I ordered one with delivery to the US. It says it is currently in the "packaging" status. We shall see. It is odd its the only Tudor you can buy on the Harrods website. Are they bypassing all the people on the waiting list if so? I just hope I get mine and they discontinue it!
