DeepSea service UK
Hi
I recently acquired a 2012 DeepSea, it was last serviced in 2016. Whilst it is just about keeping COSC specs, it is only just. Currently running +6 a day. Does anyone know current base cost and turnaround time for a RSC service? TIA |

Give them a call or pop in if you’re in London. They’re very helpful.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the DSSD.
If the timekeeping is consistent and displaying good precision i wouldn't be too concerned unless something changes with it. The movements are pretty rock solid workhorses. I assume the service in 2016 was performed by an RSC Theoretically and statistically speaking you probably have some time to go before it needs a service, that is unless you suspect it's had a bit of a hard life. Some pics would be great if you can manage it at some point Both my MK II black dial from 2011 and my JC from 2016 say hi to yours. |

I also contacted HL Brown in Sheffield who have an in-house Rolex approved service centre and they quoted the same price but with a 6 week turnaround. And if I make an appointment to take it in then their workshop will assess it straight away etc. |

A visual on the movement is always superior to anything. Water resistance testing is another matter when buttoning it up and a DSSD may add a complicating factor when it comes to liabilities. Now I could be wrong, but I understand that not everybody has the correct adaptor to open and close a DSSD. IIRC, there was a highly respected independent watchmaker on the forum a number of years ago that had bought a new set of tools and adapters direct from Rolex. Afterward Rolex contacted him to have him send back the part that's supposed to be for the DSSD. The take away from that being that Rolex is restricting who can open and close a DSSD. I don't know if that policy has changed, but duly noted at the time |

Where abouts in the uk are you? As pointed out by someone else you could take it to a local Rolex AD that has in house servicing I know they offer that service at the Preston store.

RSC London will charge £700 for a basic service and knock about £100 off if you don’t want it refinished.

Just an fyi. No AD watchmaker in the UK can service the deepsea, they must be sent to Rolex UK. Not uncommon for the AD staff to be confused about what can/cannot be done in house by them.
Any AD can facilitate this for you though. |

Last year I had my 2008 V series DSSD serviced and it cost £600.00 through a central London AD, RSC also polished out some light scratches I managed to put on the case. Watch came back like brand new in around 6 weeks.
