I won’t say that I’m the only exception to this statement, but I will say I was extraordinarily fortunate, considering I had no spend history with the AD. 14 month wait. I’m clearly not a big deal at my AD. Again, very fortunate.

4 year wait for mine and I was the stores 1st paying customer. That was 4 years prior on the exact same date of my first Rolex a Sub date (of course).

I’ve been waiting over three years, and told that “2024 doesn’t look promising for you”.

I decided to give up and went with a different choice. I tried posting in this listing, but it got moved. The post is here: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=927683

To save the suspense, I bought a Timex Q GMT quartz in Pepsi colors. 38mm and surprisingly fun and easy to wear. Just arrived yesterday - $229 list price, Black Friday special 30% discount. Yep, I know it’s a Timex and has nothing at all to do with Rolex. I’m just tired of playing the game.

If I look at it quickly, I was hoping that I could con myself into seeing a Rolex GMT instead of a Timex. Nope, it’s still a Timex, but it cost less than 20% of the SALES TAX for the real thing.

I bought a DJ41, smooth bezel, Oyster, white stick dial a month ago to try to shorten the wait list - likely won’t matter. I love the white dial and it costs less at list price than the 39mm OP white dial costs now that I was waiting for when it was discontinued.

It’s a crazy market, and I’ll be happy when the market cools further. In the meantime if the market stays nuts, I can always add the Timex Q knockoff of the Panda - that’s $179….

Likely quite tough for random Joe. My AD said BLRO is second most requested after white Daytona. Both of these followed by blue Skydweller.

Hardly surprising. I waited exactly 2 years (no purchase history) for a SkyD in white dial and that is significantly less popular than the BLRO.

Now after that wait and purchase my relationship with my AD appears to have rapidly progressed and things are moving along a lot quicker for a Yacht Master 40mm and Explorer 40mm.

I may put myself on the list for the BRLO and wait it out.

It was a 1 year wait for me. Minimal purchase history (datejust 41 blue dial and I referred a friend for a black OP 41). So, just 1 purchase for me.

Although, I have a friendly relationship with my SA, we grab drinks.

That being said, he tells me it is the hardest SS to get other than the daytona.

Does it matter what bracelet the BLRO/Pepsi is on??

To expand on that theme: It seems a popular idea that most prefer the BLRO/Pepsi on jubilee and the BLNR/Batman on oyster……. Is that still the popular idea????

I was told by my local AD that the waitlist for the Stainless Steel Pepsi was 200 years.

It's sad, but AD considers only one metric: how much $ you spent with them, during this calendar year, on non hyped items, things they can't sell e.g. jewelery, Tudor (excluding latest releases) or other brands they carry (minus Patek and AP), or 31mm DJ, or two-tone/diamonds DJ.

Then you are ranked with other customers of the same AD, so you become top 25% (low-baller) or top 10% (better), or top 1% (not yet vip) spender, in that year.

Then the AD's manager compares your requests (e.g. BLRO) versus tour ranking and decides "yes" or "no". If yes, then you get the watch when they receive it in the next week's or months. If no then AD tells you "it will take n years" but you will never get it.

That is obviously a significant factor and far more of a personal relationship than the majority have with their AD.

I think having a personal relationship with S.Abhelps. But hard to get pieces I think decision are made at the top level either the A.D himself or his manager.

Correct. SA is your advocate. Director calls the shots.

Spending matters as it is the basis the SA can use to convince the manager.... but SA caring enough to go to bat for you is a big factor.

I waited about 2-3 months after having previously bought a DJ and a pair of diamond earrings for the misses. I was pretty fortunate.

It took me two years waiting after purchasing three watches we actually wanted beforehand. I never thought it would come through but it does happen.

You must have a strong relationship with your AD before you can get one and even at that it is still difficult.

With the current situation regarding BLRO nobody including A.D knows the wait times.

Rolex solved the issues with Pepsi bezel, may be a Mk4 coming for the Pepsi. Supply improving early next year according to an SA in a big AD in UK. If this is collaborated by others then that's it then. I don't see Rolex discontinuing the second or maybe the first most popular model in their lineup, it's like discontinuing the Daytona Panda or the black Submariner.

I think discontinuing a popular watch is a very Rolex thing to do. It's not like they make a lot of money selling BLRO's - this is a limited production, cheap watch (compared to a stainless Date Just or a precious metal piece), if they discontinue this very popular model it;

.has folks clamouring to make a FOMO purchase
.drives the prices even higher
.gets folks talking about the brand even more
.increases exclusivity
.all for $0.00.. they just need to stop making a watch.

When you look at it this way, it could be quite a shrewd move from Rolex to discontinue the Pepsi would it not?
