Rolex Oyster Quartz
Hi,I am a rolex enthusiast with a small collection that i hope to grow over time. The topics have been really interesting and informative however i have seen very little information and discussion around the oyster quartz range of rolexes.I own a Oyster quartz 17013,steel and gold integral bracelet from 1982 and was wondering if there is any collectors value as its been discontinued for a while now.
Any one got any info to share? Thanks |

For the Rolex purists the word quarz is blasphemy
...BUT... As you know Rolex stopped making them in 2001 because simply were not selling. I know some AD's that still have brand new watches in stock. My opinion is that they will be extremely collectible in the future, as the Rolex quartz watches were made in low numbers. |

Thats a beauty Jocke, mine's a white dial and havent taken any pic's yet will do soon.
I believe the oyster quartz will see a good return in investment if you keep it long enough and its really nice on the wrist. Quays |

I would love to have an Oysterquartz Day Date in 18K gold as a dress watch, it would be the only quartz in my collection(excluding some Swatchs that are BINB).

Does anyone have thoughts on why the Oysterquartz was not selling enough to stay in the line? I haven't owned one but have heard they are great watches.
Maybe just not seen as consistent with the modern-day Rolex brand image by customers? |

Larry, that is a beauty. What is the accuracy like with the Oysterquartz watches?

definitely collector's item/s!
it should be as accurate as the automatics +/- allowances for them to be certified... |

I would bet on the quartz as more accurate than any automatic.

Hi, I posted one full set of pics of my beloved Oysterquartz 17000 here
http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...terquatz+17000 While, I ordered a new bracelet, just for keep it in the box, for the future, the production had been stopped, but you can find it today yet. I payed 365 euros, 1 month to order it from Geneva and chip it to Paris. Note: you will probably find strange two things on my pics. 1- the brossage direction on my bracelet is wrong. On my newly received one the brossage is like on the classic Rolex, along. I think it had been made by one local watchmaker. 2- the clasp number doesn't correspond to the serial of the bracelet, but checked by my watchmaker, it looks original. May be one serie of bracelets had been produced without a correct matching of the serials end links/clasp. My watch lost around 3 sec a month, but I never wondered to correct it. Again, it's a pleasure to wear it! Some incredible i###ts tell me I bought a fake cause Rolex doesn't made quartz Still laughing... |
