Is there anywhere I can see a FP Journe Chronometre Bleu (in person)?
I live in the US and have admired the CB (pics and videos) for a while now. I have no history with the company and don’t live near a boutique. I know the only way I can acquire this watch is pre-owned. I have bought other watches “site unseen” but this one I would have to see in person first. Do the boutiques typically have pieces for show? Any other ideas? Thanks.

The boutique does not have any for showing AFAIK. But I have handled it from another collector I met in the boutique. If you have a chance to handle a CS, I would say they are close enough but the tantalum case makes it more special. And less formal. The bluish grey tint of the metal is very unique. |

If you live close to a large pre-owned dealer (eg Boston, Philly, Orlando ), you can stop in when they have one in stock.

Go to NYC diamond district. You’ll be able to find one. Otherwise if you’re near Boston or Philly I’m sure EWC or watchbox can make it happen. To be honest it’s exactly what you see in photos. Very wearable and very beautiful.

Good stuff, thanks all.
GB-man or llngoc: in your experience, does it “wear” true to 39mm, or larger? |

True. It’s thin too. That photo it looks larger due to the angle of the photo. It’s the worst watch to attempt to photograph. You need to the ceo of Leica to get a decent pic of it. Wrist ~7-7.25

If you are buying pre-owned surely you can see and handle the watch before you buy?

If you are spending that amount of money on a watch then it’s worth a few hundred of bucks on a flight.

My wife wore it as her daily for about two years. I think if you wear it on a blue strap it makes the dial and case feel more blue; similar to if you put the green Cartier santos on the green strap.
It’s a great watch. |

Should’ve tried harder to get one when it was somewhat obtainable. But happy to have several Rolexes that were easy to get then, not so much now. The Journe looks great, enjoy it if you have it.

It's a fabulous watch, one of my favorites. I think it wears at 39mm, perfect for my 6.75" wrist.
You forgot to tell us where you live, which may help with recommendations to see it in person. |

Not sure where you are located but was able to try one at the WatchBox store in NYC few months ago.
The first time I was able to try it was at the Hour Glass in Singapore. They almost have every kind of Journe there since they said they always make sure to keep one for trying. Ironically, the Journe store in NYC didn’t have one nor I think they would’ve liked to because of the hype. I believe they follow the same pattern for hot watches now similar to AP/Patek, when were you able to try a 5712/1A or 15202 lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You can visit Boston and try one at EWC. They often have them. You can also make a day of it and visit several watch boutiques within a few blocks of EWC -- AP, Breitling, Grand Seiko, Hublot, Lange, Rolex, TAG, VC, and maybe Patek (if they're open yet) are all there, plus ADs for several other brands (e.g., Omega).
I've tried the CB many times. It's a nice watch. I think it wears big due to all the negative space on the dial. And like all Journes, you'll never be able to fully appreciate the dial because the crystal doesn't have AR coating, so you'll always see reflections, which is super annoying and why Journes don't photograph well. I once got to see one being repaired at the old FPJ Miami facility, and without its crystal the dial was truly beautiful. It's still funny to me that the CB is now so expensive and desirable, since you could always get one preowned for $18K for years and years and years -- nobody would pay more than that. It'll be interesting to see if that continues. |
