Favorite Comedy?

Watching Tropic Thunder and was laughing aloud. Got me thinking about my favorite comedies of all time.

What's yours?

That's funny.... When I was reading your thread title, I thought of Tropic Thunder too - it was on last evening on HBO. Saw it in the theater and loved it then, thought Downey did an excellent job. But favorite comedy of all time - man, that's a tough one, as that is my favorite genre. But the top few, not in any particular order are:

The Big Lebowski
What About Bob
Harold & Kumar go to White Castle (silly, but I just love it for some reason)
Half Baked
Anchorman - the Legend of Ron Burgundy
Talladega Nights

I will probably think of a few more, I am only on my 2nd cup of coffee

Does a television program count? My vote would go for the BBC comedy, Fawlty Towers which had some of the most brilliant comic writing. I seem to enjoy (and be frustrated by) it more and more over the years. Shame there are only 12 episodes.

For comedy, I always turn to Frasier and Wings. Both shared the same producers and writers and did not disappoint.

Young Frankenstein is fantastic.

As for the Simpsons, I think I'm the one person in the United States who just doesn't "get it." I wish I did enjoy it because lots of people I know just love the show.

Some of my favorites are Mel Brooks movies.

On the top of the list is Blazing Saddles.

I have the complete Fawlty Towers collection (12 episodes was all) with some really good John Cleese interviews.

It's on VHS - I'll have to get it on DVD.

Hilarious!!

Love all the Coen Brothers films.
