I've come to the realization that if I'm going to be spending money no jewelry, it might as well be Cartier jewelry which at least holds it's value a lot better than random designer garbage. I bought a Tudor GMT, then a Sea Dweller two tone last year. Been asking for a Pepsi for a while, they know I've got a 1675 that I want to pair with a modern one but no luck so far.
Since I've put my name on the Blue Milgauss and I'll pick up a GMT in 10 years where Rolex doubles it's production. |

So I got a call from the store today, a different chap, he said he would look after me from now on. He said that I need to be more realistic to start my rolex journey that DJ41 should be what I aquire first before even thinking about explorer II, I explained that I wasn't a big fan of DJ and preferred the simplicity of the OP41, again that's not a realistic choice. At that point I said I was realistically not going to spend money on products I don't want to aquire ones I did he then just waffled about how I need to be realistic about how to start my rolex journey. Condescending tone and essentially reaffirmed my decision to avoid WOS

Don't worry, this is rapidly changing. In 2021/2022 people were prepared to go on this 'journey' because you could buy a watch you didn't want and sell it for what you paid for it to then get the watch you wanted. If you had a few quid there was no reason not to do this. I'll openly admit I did this. I bought quite a few watches I had no interest in and sold them all at zero loss. At the height of the madness I sold some of these entry level watches at a profit. I had no intention to make a profit, I just wanted the purchase history, but people offered me a premium and I took it. That purchase history allowed me to get the watches I wanted at rrp. Fast forward to now. The premium on most sought after models have plummeted. The regular models will now lose you money. So why buy a regular/entry model that you don't want and lose money to then get access to a model that you want that only commands a few £k premium? The maths no longer stacks up. Rolex will now have to actually go out there and actively sell entry level TT DJs rather than people snapping them up to get on the ladder |

I have been waiting for 2 years… maybe more, I have bought from GS, so I thought I would be high on their list, maybe not. Better of buying from the 2nd hand market unless your after a few Rolex watches. Well the question is, will the wind be taken from their sails when the new factory opens and productivity improves, meeting more of the demand ?

Gradually more and more watches are falling off their high demand list so buyers without massive purchase history should find it easier to purchase watches not in this bracket. |

I got a Submariner 124060 via Goldsmiths as my first Rolex from the store. All my other watch purchases from the WoS group were online and therefore the store didn't owe me anything. No jewellery, no unwanted watches. Two year wait but it happened eventually.

My new AD, (love them) said she has her team working on a Deep Sea for me. She came up with a SD43 which I passed on, two months after meeting her, with no spend history. I was introduced by someone with a lot though. I did buy my wife's Valentine's Day present there, because my wife found something she liked, not to grease the wheels. Think she'll get me the Deep Sea within the next 60 days at most, (her words) regardless of my buying some jewelry, as that's what happened with the SD43. Did spend $8K on the jewelry though, after she said she'd get me the DS.
