Buried or cremated?

Self-explanatory.

I'm leaning towards cremation.

An interesting question, Primate Boy. In my religion, it is a violation of Jewish law to be cremated as that is interpreted as a desecration or disfigurement of the human body. Moreover, if a person has a tatoo, he or she is not permitted to be buried in a Jewish cemetery, again for desecrating one's body. Likewise, we are unable to be organ donors. Therefore, burial is our way.

Burn me up, toss me in the grass, then mow the lawn. I really don't know if I could care less about what happens to my body when I'm gone.

How strict is that? For example, is having pierced ears considered desecration? Plastic Surgery? Or a replacement of a joint, knee for example.

Just curious.

Yet another insightful question . . . No, pierced ears are not considered desecration unless you have crappy taste in earrings. Plastic surgery, a violation of Jewish law? Hardly, it keeps you looking artificially young when you hang out at the country club or the Borscht Belt. Replacement of a knee or joint? How else can you dance at your nephew's bar mitzvah if your legs ain't right?! Hope this helps.

I plan on being cremated and having my ashes spread in the garden. I know it's against my religion but I already have 33 tattoos so I figure what the heck!!!

Taxidermy - I would like to be positioned on a rocking chair with a cigarette stuffed in my mouth (even though I don't smoke).

What the hell, its something different.

I think cremation is the way to go, primate boy. Then you can have your ashes spread wherever you like - like at sea for example.

I told my wife to have me cremated, then put my ashes in a basketball, then draw eyes, a nose and a mouth on it and set it on her headboard so I can watch

Some of these responses are hilarious! Now I have to add mummification to the mix--not to mention going to a taxidermist or being stuffed into a basketball. And, as JJ suggested, there is always the sheep option.

I'd say cremation, but that would definitely preclude my dream of becoming a zombie and chasing Rado owners.
