Launch of Renaud Tixier's Monday

According to maruchan.703 IG, Dominique Renaud and Julien Tixier have launched their new brand "Renaud Tixier" (RG) in Tokyo. A new watch called "Monday" is released by them too. Anyone has more info of this project? From the IG post and if i translate correctly, the watch is 40.8mm. However, I can't find much online.

More pics of the watch from Yosuke_watch. Anyone attended the launch in Tokyo? I'm very curious because of Julien Tixier. Volant d'inertie is French for flywheel? There appears to be a revamped micro-rotor that is more efficient than traditional ones.

They’ve been working together for a while now. Surprised there isn’t more on this release anywhere yet.

Beautiful looking watch (minus the choice of fonts). That movement looks very interesting.

Yes the movement is very interesting. I see a gold micro-rotor, a barrel (?), and the portion below is unique - I have never seen a regulator and escapement like that. Hope to see more details soon.

Thanks for sharing the links! Pictures taken by professional photographers are different indeed. Monochrome has used the word 'bercé' on the finishing haha. I don't really understand how the dancer mechanism works alongside the micro-rotor but glad Renaud and Tixier made this.

The ''RT'' logo looks bad.

Impressive looking movement but other than that it looks uninspiring.

Absolutely gorgeous, except for that part of the watch that you have to look at.

Looks like there is also a silver dial option.
Movement is great, nice to to innovation to the micro-rotor.
The dial's a bit boring, but perhaps they purposely made it so.

Dominique Renaud and Giulio Papi founded Renaud & Papi, which became APRP.
Very well respected, here's a good read on their history:

Friends don't let watchmaker friends design dials.

https://revolutionwatch.com/renaud-t...tor-automatic/

Revolution has further details of the micro-rotor, escapement, dial aperture and the barrel. From my understanding of this article, there are 2 winding mechanism - the outer conventional micro-rotor and a new inner rotor that rotates independently. Both mechanism contribute to the higher power reserve. The watch is 40.8mm by 11mm, will be 62 pieces annually and this new brand already hires 9 staff, helmed by a CEO who has an interesting background from Richemont, Bulgari, Ebel/Zenith, etc.

Do you guys actually have automatic watches die when you wear them? I am at my desk most of the day and take my watch off when I workout (I leave it at home) and have never had an automatic watch die.

Off the top of my head, the 3 in my main rotation right now have 0 issues with not being full on power.

Yes, very true.

Reminds me of managing some of the dev teams I've had where they always pitch building 4000000 features we don't need lol

I have a feeling the micro independent space is getting a little crowded. Beautuful movement but I find it difficult when you have something similar release every other week.

It’s as crowded as the bathroom on a 747 serving tacos and espresso for dinner.
