Have had mine for 5 years. Only once in a Starbucks while waiting for my car to get serviced, did I have a man comment on it. He was a fellow watch guy so besides that I think an average joe wouldn't recognize it as a rolex. I have a weird relationship with my explorer, it's been perhaps my most versatile watch and one that I wear often but out of all the watches I own, it's the one I often wonder about letting go. I think that's more of a me thing and wishing it was a 37 or 38mm watch. I've tried the 36 and it's too small for me, think 37.5 would be ideal

I had a 39mm mk2, very nice watch, 39mm oyster case is perfect but I found it to be a very boring watch. I have now decided that like my watches to have multiple functions like rotating bezel, date, gmt. I also didn’t like the bezel, I think the OP 39 bezel would have suited it better, maybe not as masculine though.

Own a 214270.. def flys under the radar & also one of my favorite watches. To me the 39mm is perfect for this watch and it's just so well designed

Have had this version since release and still loving it..the non-watch guys around me still notices it is a Rolex but its as low key as i could get..its also not a common model in the wild where i am and i appreciate that as well

I think the 214270 explorer is understated. It and my 114270 explorer are my travel watches.
I alternate between the two. This July/Aug trip I will take the 214270. No one notices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
