Newbie to Panerai

Hi folks,

I am thinking of buying a second hand Panerai as my first. There are so many models that are my favourite, but I am drawn to both the Radiomir 10 Days GMT PAM00391 (love the sandwich dial) and Luminor Submersible 47 PAM00389. I also love the Luminor 1950 3 Days GMT Ceramica Black Dial Watch PAM00441. I used to own a Rolex Sub 124060, but I just didn’t get on with it. I always felt it wore too small and I appreciate more substantial timepieces. For example, I sometimes wear a Samsung Galaxy 6 smart watch and that feels good at 47mm. 44mm is probably as small as I would go.

Would appreciate any advice here including trusted traders and Ebay Authentication Guarantee sellers.

Check out those two. I saw a 422 for around 5k used. I see a 183g (like mine) that has the rare exhibition case back for Price: $3995.

I would stick with historical references that have stood the test of time. Those would include the 000,005,024,025,233,372 and the list goes on. Several of our Trusted Sellers have extensive lists of Panerai models listed on their websites. DavidSW and OCRolex Guy have some nice models to choose from. Panerai is a fun brand but it is not a brand that holds value across the board. Specific models do ok but other not so much and some are not tradeable unless it is a give away. Also agree with this line of thinking. Buy preowned from these TS and you will get a great watch that will hold relative value. I have been thru many over the last 15 years but still have 233, 372, 416 and a 390. Not a huge amount of wrist time, but do enjoy them.

I have the 183H. Is my exhibition case rare as well? I know you have the embossed movement.

The 183H is not decorated. But still nice!
