A question for the camera experts.

I have a Canon G9.Excellent camera !! I did however pick up the "dust problem".A worm like spec on the pictures, especially on outdoor shots. The camera is in for a service at the moment.

It seems this is a widespread problem with the G -series cameras from Canon, with both the G9 and G10 suffering from this.Apparantly the zoom lens sucks in dust/fibres when it retracts. With wormlike specs or small roundish specs on the pictures the result. The dust/fibres collecting on the sensor or on the rear of the lens system.

Canon have just now released the G11.Do anyone perhaps know if Canon has addressed this issue in the design of the G11 ? Someone perhaps have a contact with Canon or one of their reps ?

If this issue has been resolved,I would trade my G9 for the G11.

Thanks !!
