Sharing AD & Sales Advisor Information

Is it taboo to share or ask for AD location & Sales Advisor information from where someone bought their Rolex?

Wouldn't it be nice to share that information if you bought a Rolex without the headaches or dealing with pretentiousness of some AD's/SA's?

I noticed people don't share on the post where exactly they got it from and if asked, avoid sharing the exact location. (Excluding grey market buys)

It's probably more likely that people are cautious to reveal themselves and their location on the internet, so it's best for them to just not say. Nothing to do with the attitudes of ADs IMO

I’ll only speak for myself, but:

1) There’s an element of privacy - both for you and the SA or individual you work through at an AD.
2) When you develop a good relationship with an AD/SA/Sales Manager/Owner - you’re also considerate of their time. Although they’re in the business of selling watches and jewelry, the amount of tire-kicking, time-wasters, randoms asking for hard-to-get pieces out of the blue is more rampant than you think. Each of these interactions are handled diplomatically, civilly, and do take time.
3) So, I don’t think there’s a prohibition or a requirement to share, and I’ve seen some here specifically reference their great AD and SA on the forums … and, as you point out, many many more who keep things a bit more private (like me).

Cheers

My relationship with my AD and all the people in it I've got to know over the years is unique to me. Spraying details around in public is indiscrete but I have no hesitation in stating they are Mallory Bath (as I have done on many occasions) and as far as Helen and I are concerned they are the best Rolex AD on the planet. Past that, I can't supply any information that would get anybody an inside track.

Watchfinder give me the best offers on watches I want to trade or sell. Tempo and Time and The Swiss Watch Company are two highly professional pre owned dealers who I recommend also.

I have only suggested my AD/SA to a handful of people here and only offline. My “relationship” and buying experience may not be the same for you and each person needs to find what works for them.

I don't think there is anything wrong if someone wants to be private about their lives in general. But if someone is sharing their AD/SA location I don't see how that would negatively affect the person sharing? I can understand if AD/SA don't want to sell out of towner's but if they are in town and are new to Rolex and they genuinely want to buy one, I wouldn't consider those people to be tire kickers and time wasters?

I think there has been an established line of good and bad AD's. And basically wondering why not encourage the exposure of good AD's especially for first time buyers. To call a new Rolex buyer a tire kicker and time waster, is exactly the pompous mentality the bad AD's are showing.

What is your definition of tire kicker/waster in this context?

I don’t think it is such a big deal although it should be done in private and not posted for the world to see and maybe make a new friend in your area.

If you do buy something from that AD , SA or Manager and say this person recommended me to you.

This will in my opinion be a good thing the AD gets another buyer and the SA raises their sales goal, not a tire kicker or someone asking for the world on the first visit.
No problem recommending anyone just ask?
