Milgauss GV dial change

Proud owner of a 2 week old Milgauss GV (my first Rolex) here. I got the green because well, I love the green. However, the more I see the regular black face the more I want it! Don't have the $$ for owning both, and I'd rather have the green crystal than the regular black... unless... I could have both!

Is getting someone to do the switch (regular black dial in a GV) even possible and if so any idea how much it'd be?

Thanks

I have yet to see any listed for sale, but a quick call to your AD will tell you the answer!

I would call the RSC that serves Bermuda and see if they will do the change.

I'm not sure what you mean?

Do you want to swap the black dial on the GV for the black dial on the black Milgauss?

All GV models have a black-grayish face, what do you mean?

The three Milgausses (or should the plural be Milgaii? But I digress) which are white, black and GV have different dials. The differences are subtle but noticeable once you look closely. What the OP is saying is that he prefers the plain black Milguass but he wants it with the green crystal. Having already bought the GV with the green crystal, he's asking if anyone can swap the GV's dial for the non-GV black version.

I think only an authorised Rolex service centre can answer that question, but my guess is they'll want to preserve the GV's look and not encourage such swaps, and so will probably say no.

Cool, thanks - that's what I was going for. Guess I'll just drop by and ask. Figured I'd check here first in case there there was something like a standard price range for non-precious Rolex dials etc or someone had done something similar (black to white or whatever) on a sub/gmt/...

A very small difference IMO compared to the cost.

Way small of a difference. To me they look so close. The GV seems more grayish but it could be product of looking at the dial through a green sapphire filter instead of a regular one.

I agree with the OP. I personally dislike the GV dial and would own one if I could get past it. I -love- -love- -love- the other Milgauss dials. I just can't grow to like the mixed marker colors (3, 6, 9 = orange).

The Black Milgauss dial deletes the numeric minute markers. It also has hour markers that are all white.

Thanks Mr Dude.

Doesn't look quite as awesome as I thought it would (maybe I'm getting used to the orange 3,6,9?) but still better imho.

Well, and it's not really possible to add the effect that the green crystal would have on the color of the white dial. It might look good, or it might make it a sickly color. The Photoshop only added the green at the edge.

It might be possible in Europe, but definitely not in the States. Rolex only supplies dials for watches as specified in the catalog. Any derivations from the options in the catalog (eg. different faces for DateJusts) are not allowed by Rolex as then the watch is considered a Frankenwatch that a USA RSC wont touch..
