I am not current on what secondary market is for these pieces nor do I care. I simply commented on value assigned by VC to its product vs competition!

Now, if u tell me secondary on 5811 is 2x that of 222, I guess that tells u how preposterous pricing on 222 is to begin with. It should have been $35k watch and then it becomes interesting.

That platinum CDV is amazing. Very under appreciated piece.

The direct competitors to the 222, the 5811 and the 16202 are priced at 70,100 and 80,700 respectively. Another data point, the Piaget Polo 79, is 73,000. The 222 is priced appropriately and not too expensive relative to the competition.

I absolutely love the 222 but the gold version the way the integrated bracelet sits felt like it was just a solid gold wrist band which felt hard to mix and match with styles. I've held off on it for now but would love them to do a steel version which would go with so much more stuff. The older 222s IMO looks nicer as there is a little more plan in the bracelet so you can see a bit more space and it looks more natural than being one solid wrap around piece that the gold looks like.

I always loved the 1921 since it was first announced but I always felt it was too expensive. If I think of all the stuff I have bought since then, I should have just bought it when I tried it on, haha.

222 competes with 5811 in the same way that competitive variants of M3 with gt3 rs... roughly similar HP but one is highly desirable and unobtainable and the other is made by VC, sorry BMW...

Yes. One is a mass-produced machine-finished hype piece. The other is a VC.

I keep on holding out hope for a steel version. The price I’m sure will be unreasonable and the wait/possibility to get it one will be frustrating but damn do I want one for the same reasons you said above.

They look super cool in the flesh.

If you're into the full gold bracelet aesthetic, I'd strongly consider a PM Royal Oak as well. IMO they look even better.
