I’ve gotten wine and chocolates, the last 2 issues of Rolex Magazine and an awesome pen set. For some reason my AD likes giving me things when I just drop by for a chat.

When I picked up a Black Bay (58 GMT) this week at the AD, I was offered a hat or water bottle. Felt tacky to be a walking billboard with the hat.

A few bits and bobs over the years

Sadly this is not all of them - I need a clearout! (And no I'm not a AD)

Either you have a personal connection at an AD or you bought most of that from eBay…

Does one just ask for these things or the SA just comes out with them or ask if you would like a gift? I've never been asked or given anything, and I've never asked before.

I'm going into my AD on Wednesday to pick up a nice little surprise that I was called up for this past Saturday. Can't wait to pick it up. Hoping for a pen, umbrella, or something to go along with it. Since it's a sought out piece I'm picking up, I doubt that I'll be getting anything extra, but it would be nice.

I don’t think the model you are picking up matters. Got my nicest gift on a routine visit, without a purchase. To answer your question. It was offered to me. Personally, I can’t imagine asking for swag.

TBh nothing beats Freebies when it comes to Grand Seiko.

A few years back when I got my GS from the store in London, I casually asked for Freebies (my friend told me he got an alarm clock from there once!) - the guy there was like yeah sure and proceeded to give me:

Grand Seiko Coffee Table Book (really thick hardback)
Grand Seiko Cuff links
Grand Seiko Pin Badge
2 Grand Seiko Straps with engraved buckle.

I was speechless!

Yea, I don't feel right about asking for swag.

I just feel like, after buying 8 different watches from them, it would be nice to be offered something after spending so much money there.

The highlight of my buying experience from this particular AD (other than the watches I've purchased) was being invited back into the coveted "VIP" room for a Coca Cola and 2 bottles of water

Nicest swag I received recently was a duffle bag. Well made and tasteful - green accents but branding only on the inside. Even the bag the bag came in is really nice. SA offered it without any prompting.

They mailed me a pin as well as a notebook and pen set (wrapped in washi paper) from Japan earlier this year.
