Is this the best DateJust of all the DateJusts?

Not sure if it’s the best DateJust ever but has to be up there in the top 3 for sure

It could easily be the one. My only complaint is the lack of concealed clasp.

I’m not sure, but that’s the best photo of the Datejust I’ve ever seen.

I’m biased I own this reference it is my only watch aside from a g-shock. I think it’s beautiful super versatile and comfortable.

I’m biased since I own and prefer the Diamond dial and 41.

I don’t think so. It’s a great watch. But it seems like every reference take 2 steps forward, one step back. The case is improved from the prior reference, but the clasp change is less than ideal. And previous to that, the brushed case was a nice look. I also don’t love the dial change. But color wise? Perhaps.

It’s a great photo indeed

To me, the best iteration of the DJ is two tone, champagne dial on jubilee.

Maybe I'm getting old, 46, but fluted, jubilee, yellow two-tone, champagne dial strikes me as thee Date Just to have.

Yes, it is indeed. 36mm, blue in steel. Mine is smooth bezel and oyster but that’s just details. Enjoy.

What's best/better is in the eyes of the person who bought that particular watch combination.

I'd like that bad boy with a fluted dial to really make it bling.

Back in 1984 I walked into a Rolex AD and bought a SS Datejust just like that, blue dial with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet for $975. I think it’s incredibly cool that you can still get basically the same thing 40 years later.
Sure some details have changed and evolved over the years but the lineage is intact, classic for sure.

Nice picture, however to me, the classic DJ is two tone, preferably with the Super Jubilee bracelet, and a white/champagne/silver dial with bars.

The creative variant of any reference catches my eye whether it be an unusual dial, bezel, or anniversary model.

For the DJ, I submit the Turn-O-Graph for your consideration.

Agree, the "Thunderbird" Turn-O-Graphs are the outlier of the best DateJusts

I like them all, but my number 1 is the 41mm blue dial (fluted and jubilee). I have a soft spot for modern interpretations of classic pieces.
