Hi good people of TRF, as you might know by now from my title I am new to the Rolex world in fact im now an owner just yet, I have had few watches over the past few years but then all of a sudden something attracted me to Rolex (an advert showing Sea Dweller)
I need all the help and advice I can get for you guys choosing MY 1ST ROLEX,
I like sporty black bezel SS watches (That is why Sea Dweller attracted me) but then it's now discontinued, so shall I still look for it or shall i go for the deep sea? im very confused because I also like the GMT ceramic , aaargh what shall i do? what shall i get?
I did like the sub but until i saw it at least 10 times everyday, I do like to be different
Is £3000 a good price for 2007 Sea Dweller?
Are there any shapes or models (year) that looks different/better than others? (in both GMT and SD)
and 1 last thing, if I ask myself a question like why do I need a Rolex when I have 2 Omega's what do u advice me to answer to myself?

Welcome to TRF.

Probably the best suggestion you will receive is to head on down to your local AD and slip a few different ref's on your wrist to see which ones "sing" to you (to quote several other members).

Good luck and post some pics.

Grab an LV. Nice green bezel with maxi dial. If you get bored drop in a black bezel. Or any of the GMT's 3 bezels to choose from. Good choice in my book. In the end get what you like. I have a YG DD PLT/SS YM, TT Blue Sub and just recently acquired a Black SS Sub- sure lots of people have them but not me, until now :)

I guess I can be the first to welcome you to TRF. As my membership can attest, I too love Rolexes and though I don't own one yet, I will in the next few months(God willing). There are many posts on here regarding your choices...just do a search for the specific model and prepare to drool.
So on to some of your concerns
First- though the sea dweller may be discontinued, there are still new ones floating around. Some of the members here may have sightings for you at an AD and also there are reputable sellers on this forum with new and preloved models in the for sale section.
Second- The GMTllc is all the rave around here for its beefed up body and aesthetic appeal to name a few and it's purchase may depend on your need for a second time zone.
Third- The deep-sea is outstanding in person, though it is a tad bigger than the others which may be a consideration. It's improvements are remarkable.
Lastly, if you can't decide, buy all three..lol. However my vote goes for seadweller 4000.

Welcome to the forum and as for which model to buy if you ask 100 people to give their opinion you will get 100 different responses. There are many Black bezel insert models to choose from and for Subs don't forget the No Date option. As for why you need a Rolex well no one needs one but they are by far the best choice when it comes to tool watches. I own a GMT PEPSI and a Sub ND so happy hunting!!!

Welcome! While the Sea Dweller has been discontinued there are still some to be found in AD's (at least here in the States). The DSSD, is a good bit larger and heavier. But that may appeal to you. I happen to like both of them but the DSSD is a bit too big for my wrist.

I can't help you..... I would say buy them all...!!

In truth, I would say to get the one that you really want to wear...... if that is a Sea Dweller, then you will not be satisfied with anything else... There are still some out there...........
