279 or 165?

For the first time in my life I saw a Panerai 165 - looked pretty cool. The 279 is a classic, undoubtedly. I have a chance to get either (or both ) Which would you prefer - also, what is a fair price in your opinion for each? I appreciate your input, my Paneristi Brethren!

Not the best pic but the old style bracelet and tobacco dial are awesome. Not a fan 0f 165 and not a clue as to pricing.

Brain, that's a beautiful collection!

If you don't mind me asking, what do you think is a fair price for a 279?

279 - $6500 to $7200 sounds right to me for a brand new one. Then again, I'm always expecting too much ;-)

I believe, someday one by one, they will turn their eyes to the DARK Side.
