Need some advice, my best friend's twin boys (11 yrs old) told their Mom they both really want a watch for Christmas like their Uncle Allen's (me). So needless to say, I am thrilled that they have taken an interest in watches & I've decided I'll get them their first automatic.

My question is, what should I go with? I wear my GMT most of the time & they love it (& always notice when I rotate out my bezel inserts

) so I'm thinking a homage watch like Invicta is the way to go, maybe the Submariner version? Any suggestions? Does Invicta make a GMT Master II pepsi or coke?

Very nice gesture! The thing is how big their wrists are. Now I have a pretty scrawny wrist for 14 years old, but I think the Orient Mako is perfect. They can be found for under $100, and they are great. It comes with the date, day, rotating bezel, etc... Also they come in different colors. Black, blue, pepsi, orange, etc... Also, the crystal is not sapphire. But overall, it's a great watch!

Or depends on what you want to spend. I think the Tudor Mini sub is a great watch for a young boy.

Looks like a sub and is quite robust for this applicatio

Yep, this will give the closest look to your watch and price right for a kid's watch.

Hi Allen,

I prefer to gift G shocks to kids of this age as kids like to tinker around their watches. This brand is sturdy and takes rough handling and perhaps appeals to them. Orient is another option if you are looking at watches with bezels.

How do the Orients rack-and-stack with the Invicta's? I'd prefer to keep it under $100 per watch since the chances are good they'll take some abuse. Thanks for the suggestions!

Id really go for a digital or quartz.
They won't wear it regularly enough at this age to keep it going
and setting it could pose issues with the screw down crown and all.

I still have my first watch! Its a manual Star Wars watch

Just found it a few mths ago when cleaning out some stuff.....

Take a picture with them wearing it as soon as you see them with them on the first time.

Keep that picture and then give it to them when they get older, if they turn out to be WIS
they will LOVE IT!!!!!!
