seiko quartz hydrid

That should be HYBRID. Opps.

My 6309 quartz hybrid arrived. I'm keeping the slightly wabi'd pepsi bezel on it. It matches the slight wear to the case, bracelet, and hands. It's NOWHERE near as bad as the photo's show.

The marks on the crystal in the first pic are my thumb prints because I'm a git.
The crystal is pristine.

No, a member of one of other forums I visit was on a roll for a while picking up parts and building these. Neat little Frankenstein. The cushion case Seikos wear large, but flat on your wrist.

If you have the inclination, it's actually not a hard build. The 7428 quartz movement drops right into a 6309 case. Sapphire crystals are available on the aftermarket. Both watches are easy to find. A good 6309 body with a trashed movement and a running 7428 with major blemishes can turn into 1 decent watch.

Yes, it's a good thing 11/29 was a Wednesday.

Worked for Sanyo for about 9 years with a Japanese staff. Had to learn my kanji days of the week and had to learn Japanglish. At our Tijuana plant, with Japanese, Mexicans, and Americans, we called it Spangrish.
