GMT Master 2 - Really Worried!!

Hi all,

I have been a member of this forum for around 5 months ever since I purchased a new GMT Master 2. I love the watch but am slightly concerned ever since it fell off my wrist last week!!

The small screw that joins the strap (next to the clasp) literally fell out!!! Luckily, I was sitting at a table and the watch never fell far and was not damaged. However, I could have quite easily been not so lucky. This really has led to concerns.

Has anybody experienced any similar problems and what should I do now? I obviouly managed to fix the watch but should I get it checked out by the jewellers?

Any advice would be greatly welcomed.

Thanks

Kev

I am sorry to hear that Kevin, there was recently a post regarding this matter... Do you know if the watch is an M or V serial?

How old is the GMT master, is it the ceramic version?

Put the screw back in and use loctite. Whilst your at it, check all the other screws.

When you had it sized they probably failed to loctite the screw. It's not uncommon.
Have a watchmaker re-install it with the proper loctite.
Good luck.
