I changed my mind......
Evening Gent's......
So I eventually got to my AD's today with the intention of viewing the DJII he has in stock to be my second 'heirloom piece' along with the LV I already have on hold & awaiting my bonus next month..... & as I walk up to the window there it is..... .... not just speaking to me but positively whispering sweet seductive tones straight to my sub-conscious.... (no mean feat for a watch to make itself heard so clearly by a deaf guy..... ) the beautiful GMT IIc!!!! long story short I tried my baby on & she just felt ..... "right". the bigger case..... the heavier bracelet..... the maxi-dial that I love so much on the LV..... the crisp, perfect, bezel...... & boys that clasp alone is worth the extra £4-500!! (it's been bugging me ever since I put a deposit on the LV that Rolex haven't had the decency to upgrade that clasp ever since my 1996? Explorer II... & the 'thin-ness' of the clasp drove me nuts me when I had that one!!) so I swopped over my deposit from the LV to the GMT..... & my AD's ordered me two DJII's to view for my second purchase; which are the black with white batons & the rhodium with arabic numerals (gotta love that lume!!). The DJII that I tried on had a great "feel on the wrist" to it but to be honest the two tone bracelet, gold bezel, champagne face & diamond markers was a little too "bling"..... even for me!! (dare I say almost..... "Christmas Carcker-ish"?!?!?) I have a feeling that I'll end up getting the GMT in January/February & then waiting for the new Sub (IF it's announced at Basel?) for the second watch & if there's no new Sub this year I'll still grab the other LV that's also on order..... but who knows what'll happen when I see the other DJII's in the flesh eh......??

The GMT IIc.
It like a disease!!! People just can't resist. I've just had the call to say mine has arrived at my AD. Going to pick it up in the morning. Congratulations. |

Hey dan..
We have done the same cat and mouse game!!! I put a doposit on an LV as well but have ordered the GMT IIC to try before buying the the LV.. I will do the comparison on saturday....I hope. (if the GMT arrives tomorrow, otherwise I'll have to wait till next week) I still have not seen the GMT in person yet..........Who knows,, I may still buy the LV but my feelings lean twards the GMT... And oh yea,,I have the DJ II in white...LOVE HER!!!! I call her snow -white because I picked her up in a Blizzard! enjoy the anticipation, pete Last edited by petesjag; 31 December 2009 at 04:52 AM..
