Shell Cordovan Straps

Anyone own one? What are your thoughts vs. thick calf? Seems like the cordovan is the best of both worlds if you want the look of a simple but substantial strap b/c, from what I understand, you get some more comfort and pliability that you don't get with calf. Thanks.

Once broken in they are quite comfortable. I have an Europelli burgundy strap that is a perfect "dressy" strap for work.

I prefer leather by far. Just my opinion.

Both calf and cordovan are considered leather. I'm guessing you're referring to the more common of the two, calf. If that's the case, help me understand why you prefer it so much more than cordovan?

I'll be honest with you. Of all the straps I've tried and purchased, I prefer vintage AMMO's that have leathers that are 65+ years old. These stay true to Panerai heritage & history, plus they smell fantastic . I can assure you that Cordovan wasn't used by Italian Frogmen.

The above is just my opinion. If Cordovan floats your boat, by all means get yourself some of that love. There are many 'Risti's with varied tastes, my friend.

Just show some pics when you get your chosen strap(s)!!

I owned a Europelli recently and wore it a couple of times only. The finish was a bit too glossy for everyday wear and the leather had a rubbery feel to it. I prefer calf leathers like Simona's and the OEM's.
