new stainless Sub with ceramic bezel
Mike (the mod) and I met for lunch this week for our usual Rolex discussion.
Both of us are fortunate (or crazy) enough to own both a GMT2C and a SDDS. With that in mind, where does the eagerly anticipated Sub Date 166100 fit in? At $7400 plus a $$$ premium for most of the initial buyers from the very likely scarce supply, I think it makes the price of a mint pre-owned SDDS or GMT2C very attractive for someone looking for one of these watches. What do you think? |

But...........it will be a Submariner not a Sea Dweller or a GMT.
The sub IS the Rolex Iconic watch.....when someone says Rolex, the Submariner is what pops into most peoples heads. The Sub has a strong enough following to sell even if it is close to Dweller money or GMT2 money purely on its name and heritage alone. |

It's a different watch, and you can be sure that there will be pretty high demand.
