Submariner - Engine Oil Change

Well I've been using a SS Submariner for almost 14 yrs. on a daily basis. I really trust this Sub. It's a work horse.. It never stopped.
A couple of weeks ago I felt its movement getting a bit heavier while adjusting the time and it didn't start working.. So I sent it to Rolex maintenance, the guy there told me it needs cleaning, oil & O-rings change. OK no problem..I sent it (Cost $ 120) and now it's running perfectly..

Since I am an Engineer but not a watch expert, I didn't have enough time to ask the Rolex guy, so can anybody inform me:

-Which parts should be oiled ?
-What kind of oil(s) is used ?
-How frequent a Sub must be oiled ?
-What damage may happen to the engine if not oiled for a long time ?
-How many O-rings must be changed ?
-What is the material of the O-rings ?

Please I need professional answers only.. Thanks

Which parts should be oiled ?
There are exploded diagrams showing the parts that should be lubricated. Google is good.

-What kind of oil(s) are used ?
Again there are diagrams that show this but IMO there are a dozen different lubricants that are used.
-How frequent a Sub must be oiled ?
This has always been are area for debate but I would suggest 5 - 6 years if the Rolex is worn daily and up to 8 - 10 years if it is rotated.
-What damage may happen to the engine if not oiled for a long time ?
The parts that touch will shed particles into the oils and this will eventually form a cutting paste that will speed up the wear.
-How many O-rings must be changed ?
The main 'o' rings that require changing are the seals in the twinlock and triplock crown seals along with the caseback and crystal seals.
-What is the material of the O-rings ?
Viton.

Question has been ansrewed in link, while its important to use the correct oils etc,its far more important to use the right amount. To lubricate a watch correctly would take a very tiny amount of oil,the amount needed you could fit on a few pin heads.

I hope my 12year old Serti Sub will cost that when I send it in for its first service this summer. It runs great and is rock solid.

Where did you send it?

$120 seems to be a real good price for this--where did you send it?

"1. The bezel on a genuine Submariner turns only in one direction: counter clockwise. Fakes often turn in both directions or in other words, they are bi-directional. All high quality fake Swiss Grade 1's are correct in this feature. So even if the bezel turns in the correct direction, this doesn't mean it's a genuine Submariner."

Is this guy really a horologist?

Is this what they teaching
