Since going to view the Deepsea, all I can think about is the new TT Black Submariner
Hey guys
After riding the buzz and excitement of Dalip's Deepsea arrival last week, I just knew I had to go and view one for myself so I got in touch with my AD who managed to source a Deepsea from their other branch for me to have a look at. So off I went last week in eager anticipation to go and view the Deepsea, and after handling it, trying it on, etc I can echo other people's sentiments that it really is an engineering marvel and one hell of a time piece. Trouble is, I asked what other pieces they had just received in stock and my AD asked me "had I seen the new Black TT Submariner". He brought this watch out to me, and all I can say with absolute conviction and no hesitation is WOW! Like many of the guys on this forum, I've come across many draw dropping Rolexes, but I have to say this is the best looking Rolex I have seen in the flesh, and I'm not even a fan of Gold! The way all of the colours blend and complement eachother is incredible and for me, the ceramic bezel really brings out the class in this watch. I've got to admit guys that I love this watch and can't stop thinking about it, but realistically I can't do anything just yet. When I first got into buying Rolex, it was only ever straight stainless steel, no PCL's and definitely no gold and as my current collection stands, I have a Sub LV, GMT IIc s/s and s/s Platty Yacht-Master, so I'm seriously thinking about selling my Sub LV to use as part funds to look at getting the TT Submariner as my AD has offered this to me at £5,600 brand new down from the list price of £6,610. Decisions, decisions guys as I love the look of this watch but am really concerned whether I would be able to pull this look of as I am nearing 28 and I've always associated gold on a watch to fall under the look of an older gentleman. You're thoughs and advice would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks Jonathan |

i think that's what's great about the TT Black Sub C! very versatile! i had a friend back in college (that would be 12 years ago) who had a SS Sub but would borrow his dad's TT Black GMTII... it looked great on him! he just wore it with jeans and a collared shirt! go for it buddy! |

Very nice watch, but i think you could get that for 2O% off list at an AD, and get it for at least £5288.

Prefer the TT GMT as a watch, but the Sub TT has a similar look and in black, is a good looker, without a doubt. The norm discount for a TT is at least 20% off an AD. Your nearly 28 and wondering if you can pull it off. Well of course you can, the TT looks good however old you are. Go for it !

Hey Jonathan - hmmn...interesting and not at all surprising - the Black TT Sub C is a gorgeous watch....funnily enough I traded my Blue TT Sub C for the DSSD....I decided to go for the blue over the black..I loved it to start with and then found I wore it less and less..
Why: I think it may have been the blue...but for me I think it was more the gold factor..I just found it didn't work for me in the end and I preferred my SS models... BUT: this is JUST ME!!!! I am definitely not a YG gold person at all - Good luck with whatever you choose Dalip

Thanks to all that have offered their comments and advice thus far.
Dalip, thank you too for your comments as it was your new Deepsea that saw me venture out to my AD as I just had to see this watch. Come to think of it, I didn't show a great deal of enthusiasm when asked if I'd like to view the TT Sub, but we all know what happens when we're blown away by something. The feel to the watch felt spectacular too. It just felt that Rolex have shown some real love and dedication to this next evolution of the Black TT and as I mentioned before, the Ceramic bezel amongst the other black and gold of the watch make it the classiest Rolex I've seen in person. I guess from the comments about price expectations I am going to go back to my AD and push for 20% discount as I do a lot of business with them in general. Looks like the LV will have to make way, even though that in its own right is a fantastic watch. |

YES YES YES!!!
The TT Ceramic BLACK is the one for me as well I am just waiting for a for sale thread "priced to sell" on one of these at the same price point as the GMT-II ceramic. So sick of all the TT's for sale that are the blue or the "bluesy" just typing that word makes me ill (no offense to those who love the blue) Best of luck, I am waiting patiently for the right deal for me to pick up one of these.

Agree. TT Black > TT Blue. It is just the opposite on the old ones with the aluminum insert.

I've never been a fan of the green bezel, so I would trade in the LV for the TT Sub-C.

I've always gone down the route of my AD, but hearing so many good reports of late about the quality of sellers on the forum has got me to thinking about trying out this route. Just need to know where to start

It'd make a great choice - to me, the new black is much nicer than the new blue!
