new to rolex, help with a dial color
Has anyone else ever seen a dial this color before? I have been looking at pix on here and google and I am unable to find it. I was told that everything about this watch was genuine. It's kind of a pewter color. sorry about the bad pix but its definitely between sliver and gold.
thanks. |

Yes, I have the very same Datejust 1603. It is a "slate" pie pan style dial produced in the 60's and 70's.

Thanks so much! Been driving me mad the last few days - got the watch last Friday. Do you know if they may have produced this dial up into the 80's? I was told that it's a '81 Datejust 16030. The seller did not have any paper work, but assured me everything was genuine and my mom has been going to him for about 15 years, so I didn't have much hesitation.

Hey taljamil, I think it does from what I have read, the hands on the watch will stop after the first click, when pulling the crown out, if I turn the crown back towards me the date will advance one day, without the hands moving. If this is right then yes I do, sorry still trying to learn as much as I can.
