help with a Rolex GMT ???

Someone has for a sale a GMT-II that I am interested in, however - something doesn't add up.

He states it is an F-series, but when I checked out the website
http://gmtmasterhistory.com

they state:
Evolution:
1997/2000: Tritium -> Luminova -> Superluminova
2000: Solid end link bracelet indroduced (SEL).
2003: Laser crown introduced.
2003: No holes case starting (late Y-series).
2007: New certificate (plastic/credit card size) introduced (Z-series).
Late 2007: Caliber 3186 instead of 3185 (late Z-series and the M-series).

the pictures he sent me clearly has the luge holes. And I know F is 2004, after Y. The pictures do look legit.

Should I just stay away from this, or are there F-series GMT-II with the holes?

thanks in advance!

could be an honest mistake, but there are lots of bad people out there...
F series definitely NO lug holes.
unless it is too good of a deal to pass up AND ou can pay in a manner that you can get your money back (CC, paypal with buyer protection, etc) I would look elsewhere. THere are too many good deals out there now to take any chances. Good luck.

If these pics are of the actual watch, a bunch of stuff doesn't add up. It should have SEL's, "Swiss Made" SL dial, a no-holes case. My vote ... pass.

yeah - I didn't even think of the SEL - good call.

so either this guy has his serial numbers mixed up or it's a scam.

I asked for pics of the serial number on the watch, we'll see what response I get if any.

That should tell you everything you need to know. My gut is leading me to think the pics may not be of the actual watch - if there is a watch. I will keep up with the thread out of curiosity, but it is odd, to say the least. Good luck with it.
