Lv/gv/ln ?

Hi all the Rolex fans
Sub LV / Milguass GV / GMT LN
What are the full spelling and the meaning of the LV / GV / LN
And normally Rolex use numbers to represent the model and why these 3 models have letters ?
Are they more special than the others ?

L always meanes Lunette, or the bezel (insert)

G always means Glasse, for the crystal

V always stands for verti - green

N stands for Noir - black.

mix and match them..

Rolex doesn't actually have these numbers as part of the model, but rather part of the paperwork for it's options.. The Sub LV still only comes with 16610 stamped on the case etc.. The black Sub could be referred to as the Sub LN

If they are older models (2007 and back), what were the bezel constructed of if they weren't ceramic?

Before ceramic inserts that started in 2005 with the gold GMT II, inserts have been aluminum.......unless you go way back to 1954 when the GMT had bakelite inserts..

Lunette is French for spectacles......think of the frames....sometimes circular surrounding and holding in place a piece of glass....
