I like the 36mm Explorer.

The new one just doesn't look right due to the fact if has small hands!

Will definitely get the new one as well as I think 39mm would like bigger than the existing one. I consider that 36mm is a little bit too small compared with other sport models.

The 36mm is actually so nice in its shape, anyone has a chance to own it, you will love it. Just pick one today, I love it.

I personally like the very old 1016 style, but the new 214270 is awesome.

Rolex is lucky it didn't have Internet forums to contend with back in 1989 when the 1016 was replaced by the 14270.

I will be adding a 39mm Explorer to my 39mm 1016 Homage, the MkII Vantage.

Well, I can't see it getting any better for me than my 36mm.
Although the 39mm isn't available yet, I think that Rolex made a good move. I believe it will make the model more popular. Have to see it for real to decide. One of the things I like about the 36mm model, is the nice wide lug width at 20mm, which is quite wide for a watch this size. That gives it the proporitions I really like. I am wondering if the lug width on the 39mm will stay the same. I think 20mm is the max lug width for any Rolex?
I am curious to see how the hands look for real, as I have heard complaints about them being too small. Does that mean they kept the same hands as the 36mm, or made the hands smaller, or made them bigger but not big enough? I can't really see by just looking at the pics, to be honest.
Paid a visit to my Rolex AD yesterday. Also my favourite AD. When they heard that the Explorer 36mm was to be changed, they grabbed the last ones from Rolex that they could get hold of. I was lucky that I got mine in Feb as I got a 20% discount. Now they will only sell the watch for full price, no discount even with cash. I don't know if other AD's will follow suit, but maybe this is a good indication that the 36mm model will at the very least hold it's value.
I am really looking forward to viewing the 39mm model, I guess at least 3 or 4 months away. I would like to see the proportions and also the dial and the new all white gold numerals. I am also wondering what the price will be, given the upgrade of the movement and the bracelet to the oyster with Easylink.
If I had neither a Milgauss nor an Explorer, and couldn't decide between the two, I think the new 39mm Explorer would make it an easier choice.
