New Favorite Non-Rolex Non-Affordable Watch!

It would definately have to be the JLC Dualmatic. I just love that watch. The strap looks great on it too. One more watch I can add to my "I can't afford it" list.

I like that watch so much it just happens to be my desktop.

Don't listen to JJ, if all was equal, I would say jump on that baby in a quick way. Too bad all is not equal.

Don't be silly, Daren. That watch is way too 'adultish' for a young fella like Tyler. He needs something 'rough and tumble'....something with a coronet on it!!

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think the crazy kiwi is right. I probably would look better with a sub. I now need to go throw myself out of the second story window.

Rough and tumble? That bad boy is a tank and what do you know, it can dress up as well. Don't forget, the youngster has Prom and other formal occasions ahead of him. And no he is not James Bond so the sub won't match with a tux.

I agree with Daren on this. And I also agree with Tyler... that JLC has been a fave of mine for about four years.

I have a great solution. All I need is someone to give me about oh I'll say $12,725 USD I could buy both and not have to worry about it anymore. The day I save up enough to get either one of those, will probably be the end of the world.

I can lend you the money, but I'll have to charge 25% interest, indexed and compounded monthly.

Hey come on, that's about 3% less than some credit card companies. Besides, it's that high to make sure I get it back. Don't forget, I have connections to those who make concrete loafers.

You've got a deal JJ. It'll be good to get rid of Liz for a while. She never shuts up in algebra.

Yea it is scary. Thanks to that it's going to haunt my dreams for quite a while.

Tyler

P.S. I'll still take the cash. To make it even better I'll take the cash for just the sub.

I guess I kinda hijacked my own thread. Sweet. When you go for the Daytona will you flip the YM or the Exp? I'll be glad to take the YM off of your hands for you. Just remember JJ. I'll buy the YM.

Thanks, Tyler, but in all seriousness, I have sworn to both my daughters and the wifey (all 3 of whom love the TT YM too much) that I'd never sell it. The Exp-II has grown on me a lot and I wear it practically every day.

When I do decide on the TT Daytona, it will most definitely have to be sometime in 2007 and that would be my THIRD Rolex.

Cheers - JJ

I think that is a very good choice JJ. I have seen your TT YM in the local AD and I must say it is a beautiful watch. I really like it too. The main reason I want a sub is because of the dive factor. Sure I don't have my SCUBA yet but I am planning to get it. Although I really like the YM.

The TT YM comes in 4 dial colours: Blue (like mine), white, champagne and silver/grey. Which one did you see?

And good choice on the Sub.....stick with it.....remember, a Rolex is a Rolex is a Rolex and always will be....no matter what!!

Cheers - JJ

From what I can remember I saw the SS/Plat, and the TT blue dial. I was too busy staring at the subs and the daytona. I'm really starting to like the TT models. A lot of the watches I have had are "TT". No actual gold but you get the point. Would it be smart to dive in a TT watch?

Tyler, while you certainly show maturity beyond your years, I have to say that a TT watch on a guy younger than say, 30, looks a little to pimpin' if you know what I mean. It depends on what you do and with whom you hang, but in your teens and 20s, I'd steer away from YG on a watch.

Diving with a TT sub or YM is certainly not a problem, but you also have to ask yourself, 'am I confident that if I'm diving and for whatever reason the watch gets loose... can I watch it sink into the dark abyss?' I've also heard from guys who have dived in the Caribbean with their TT sub that they get treated different (and not in a good way) by the locals and the dive masters.

If you've got a TT sub as your main watch, it would be smart to pick up a Seiko monster to dive with, cuz at $150 a pop, it's much easier to swallow if you lose it in the deep.
