Why do some sellers on TRF....
hide the serial numbers while others don't. Just curious.

Also, it is to keep an authentic serial number from being cloned onto a fake watch.

1) Questionable individuals can report the serial number stolen, and the eventual buyer will have problems when Rolex seizes it at service time.
2) It helps counterfeiters with a template of an original-looking serial number. Besides, most knowledgeable buyers interested in serial numbers are only concerned with placing an age to a watch. In these cases, only the series letter, or million series will suffice.
