Current Submariner LV.

Evening Gent's.

I was at my AD's today getting the bracelets on my GMTIIc & Seiko Monster adjusted.

While there I noticed that they (somewhat surprisingly I thought) still have the LV in the window.

Although I'm on the waiting list for a new ceramic Submariner, I'm tempted to buy the LV now simply because I did & do love it (even though I'm really not a fan of the older style clasp) & nobody really knows exactly when the new models will hit the stores & by the time they do it might be too late to get an LV.... & (heaven forbid) but it's possible that I might not even 'fall for' the new ceramic Sub' anyway.

However I'm concerned that if I buy the LV now, & then I DO want the cSub' I'll take a huge loss on the 'flip'.

Any thoughts on what kind of hit I'll take on a current LV when the ceramic Sub's widely available (in the UK) guys??

As ever...... I thank you all for your help.

List (£4070?) BUT I use 'in-store loyalty vouchers' to cover a part of it.

Thing is I've only got 'so many' vouchers to use so if I take a huge loss I'll be swallowing it & making it up in hard cash.

Don't do it Dan unless you are going to keep it! Unless you can wait till you can get both that is!

If you can purchase with vouchers...and you do not see a better way to turn these vouchers into cash, then using them on a purchase that you could later sell may be a course of action..

However, if you could use the same vouchers for a new ceramic, then you will likely take a loss on the transactions..

The LV may, or it may not, jump or spike like the GMT 16170 did....there are still plenty of them available new...

Thankyou for your replies.

It's real hard to explain but you can trade the vouchers for '4x face value' on certain purchases so I think you guys're right & I'm better off waiting for the new ceramic, so not incurring any losses on a potential (probable?) 'flip'.

Sorry if I've wasted your time Gent's.......
Guess maybe I was just 'thinking aloud' kinda thing.

dan, the lv is a bit of a marmite watch... so that being said, i would think twice before buying... as flipping it later could prove difficult...

i rather buy a watch to keep rather to speculate on later...

Oh no...i caught this thread kind of late! Im going to go against the others and say get it,esp if its a good deal...im impulsive and bought the LV after lusting after the 16610 for some time(esp loved the LV after finding out you can change the bezel insert). I dont regret the LV,ill keep it no matter what...I want a ceramic sub also, and a gmt,and a pam 104,etc LOL...i'll just have to wait a little longer.
Also, even if you still want the new sub and it even takes a little longer to get after getting the LV..maybe they will be discounting the new subs or be available from one of the sellers here at great prices. Im sure they won't be discounted much when they first come out!

I just bought one today :)
I haggled the AD down to £decent price. I have a great relationship with my AD though. but I thought £3400 was a cracking price.

it's a "V" plus I got a black bezel ordered too and that was included in the price.

I have a great relationship with my AD. Take them wine, chocolates, really look after them......and it definitely pays. They offer me Daytonas, discounts, anything I want almost :)

Every single AD I have been to in the last few weeks has had at least one. In Gothenburg, Sweden they were $6500, in Frankfurt, Germany they were $5400 and now I've seen about 10 of them in Geneva from $5500. It is going to be a long time before there will be any problems getting one.

I am VERY impulsive!
I have woken up on days and thought "im going to change the car" or "im going to find a new house".
I spend half a day or solid price searching etc, but I am a buyer! and I normally buy that day.

In my whole life however ive pretty much never regretted it, If I want something I just go and get it.
I haggle a great deal, but I just go and get it!!

Thats just me :)

No time wasted good buddy! "Thinking out loud" is part of the TRF experience!

I think that if you like your GMTIIc so much, it's a pretty sure bet that you'll like the new ceramic sub too. I say save up for the new one....I am.

X2. Get the LV and order a separate black bezel. You'll have two great, classic, watches in one case. When they're gone (the LV), they're gone.

Good luck!
