yacht master clasp help needed please!!

hi all

i have a 18k and steel full size yachtmaster and i woke up this morning after wearing it in bed and the 1st clasp is not closing properly it "pings" open ever so slightly. i think i may have slept on it some how?

any one had this, where should i take it?

i can still wear the watch as the second clasp keeps it secure but need to get it fixed.

sleeping on it wouldnt do it.. must be a defect or maybe it happened some other way... it is just a simple adjustment.. take it to your local ad and they will slightly bend the inside flaps on the flip lock to make it snap in more secure. most of the time when you take your rolex in for service, rolex does the same thing to tighten up the clasp for a more secure snap when you lock it in.. this is something you could do yourself, but you dont want to over do it, so if you are unsure then best let the ad do it for you.. just a little tweak is all it takes.

hi d dont trust the 2nd clip to hold everything.2 for a reason. have it looked at.

I have a How-to in the Reference Library under the Amateur Watchmakers Corner for adjusting the closing "snap" on your clasp.

It's a simple matter of bending one of the blades on the inside deployant...........

This is how you do it, open up the clasp watch upside down clasp in your left hand now the folding part on the clasp side bend slightly in the direction of it's bend, the otherside bend in the opposite of it's bend. What that does is move the clasp away from where it locks so it will snap tighter. You don't bend alot just a little on each side and sneak up on it. Please do not bend the clasp tabs with pliers they will eventually fatigue and break, the folding parts are substantially stronger metal and can be adjusted virtually forever. Rikki
