I just spoke with Peter (Padi) and he had just got back from the hospital. He's feeling a bit sore and was just going to have a lie down before I disturbed him. He says he will probably be back on the forum in a few days when he's feeling better and thanks you all for your concern.

Well guys got to my bed around 2.30pm on Thursday they said they
would be doing the procedure Friday morning. But because I am a
Anaesthetic hazard impossible intubation. The same Anaesthesiologist
that done my operation the last time came to the ward. And said they would be doing it now and as soon as a theatre was ready. So it was a bit of a rush a quick shower, into my paper pants and sexy open up the back gown and down the theatre. Now they have to use what they call a wide awake fibreopic technique, must admit that side of it was not very pleasant getting the camera tube up and down my nose and air way, but the Anaesthesiologist was a real nice looker. But I was sure glad when she said Peter all finished,we will put you to sleep now.It was quite late Thursday evening when I came around. They could not repair with just the camera down throat,so just a few more small cuts where they put in there instruments to do the repair on last op.They was going to keep me till Monday ,but I more or less begged Mr Clark and he agreed I could go home.Well still a bit sore this morning and quite a lot of bruising, must have used a hammer and chisel to get in.So guys many thanks for all your good wishes, and I hope thats the last I see of hospitals till I meet my maker.

I am with you on that score, Peter. Glad you got to see that bird of an Anesthesiologist, though. A silver lining in the cloud...

Speedy recovery, my friend!

Glad everything went OK. Glad you got the same Anaesthesiologist again, since she have "Deep Throated" you before.....

In all seriousnes 'Awake Fibreoptic Intubation' that Peter has experienced,is VERY unpleasant. It is the safest way of securing the airway for the anaesthetic,in a very difficult intubation, like Peter's.

Thanks Chris thought I would have liked the deep throat experience better the second time, but alas no.She took a bit longer this time too, but can assure its not as pleasant as the real thing. And I end up with the sore throat now that must be hard to swallow.
