No Name Brand
Would this be considered a "fake" since it does not claim to be a Rolex, nor does it have any Rolex text on the dial?

No........... it is not a fake until crosses trademark boundaries....
But, I think that homage/copies/ etc., are pretty cheezy........... Most really are there to give the buyer the feeling that he has a watch "similar" to the real deal, and therefore, just as good.. One thing I do notice on the movement is that they have painted the auto-wind wheel red to try and simulate a Rolex movement.......... It is still a far cry from that, but the only reason to do that is to deceive......... I do suspect a photoshoppped fake here though.........

Look at the clasp guys.......no photoshop there.
Same clasp as the GMT IIc, less the Rolex Crown. |

No photoshop here. These are homage watches and there's absolutely nothing wrong with them. Similar to buying an Invicta, or an Alpha, or an RXW.
This watch posted though seems to have a crappy movement. |

I wouldn't mind having one, if it existed, so I can do a long term test with. I have never warmed up to the maxi case and wearing one would be great, not just your 5 minutes in the AD.
It would help me decide on a new Sub or go vintage. |

It looks very Chinese and very much like it was intended to deceive.
I also suspect the fake branding was photoshopped off. Why else deliberately make the movement look 'Rolex-esque'? The case is sorta halfway between the regular Sub dimensions and the maxi-case, so not too impressive on that level. Why does it exist?

Being a designer, I downloaded the photos and checked for alterations to the photos...I could not find any misplaced pixels viewing upclose. I first thought of the photos being photochopped as well.

Like Alan111 said, all over ebay. they have -c sub copies too. I was thinking about picking one up just to try out on a NATO. It might look the part, but at least it's not claiming to be something its not.

This almost certainly came out of a fake factory, regardless of where you'd find it on a map.
No one goes to such painstaking care to create a near perfect copy complete with Rolex-specific detailing just to leave it blank. I know these factories also cater to "Internet Builders", which is why you might see ones like this one. Interestingly, that's a Sub bracelet. You can tell because the clasp is a good centimeter longer than the GMT clasp assembly. |

I disagree. The watch in that picture is very far from an Invicta or Alpha. It's much closer to a real Rolex design than anything offered by those brands.
Add the rehaut, the Rolex "crown" on the crown and clasp, and a dial with markings and you have a near perfect copy. |

Meh, watches like that are just a waste of resources. So plain looking too.

until someone proves that you can buy this watch as is, it's going down as a photoshop job.
construction and quality seems very hi to be simply a 'homage' model. |
