Travel back to USA and Rolex Spotting

Well, traveling back to USA. Met a guy from Geneva in one of the bussiness class lounges. He was wearing a Rolex Explorer 1. Got into a lengthy converstation about Rolex. HE bought his Exp 1 in Switzerland and had to wait for 6 months for them to order! Funny thing was he said how he went to Hong Kong for bussiness afterwards and noticed on just Nathan Road alone there were about 20 ADs, and every one had several Rolex Exp 1. He joked about how no wonder hard to get a Rolex in Switzerland, they ship them all to Hong Kong!

Then on the flight back one of the male flight attendants was wearing a really nice SS Datejust with oyster bracelet. Had diamonds in place for the hour indicators. Actually looked really good, not bling at all. Asked him about it, he stated his Wife (thank God that stereotype was busted!)
got it as a gift for him. The Datejust actually looked really good! Noticed how the oyster bracelet did not have the safety clasp though like the Exploers or GMTs.

I may just have to get a Day Just. Really like how the Crown looks for the 12 O'Clock hour marker.

My watch is virtually identical to yours except I have a engine turned fluted bezel and aftermarket president band. I love the concealed clasp design of the Day Date.

Thanks for the comments, guys... yeah, I really do love my DJ - it definitely smiles at me... I'm getting a smooth bezel for it next week as I've become a real fan of that look... this, after having the fluted bezel on there for so long... Mikey, you're right - I remember seeing a closeup pic of yours and we have the same watch right down to the dial, with the 'stepped' stick markers... a lovely dial... I'd LOVE to have a President band on mine... I wish Rolex had made that band in SS, but alas... Oh, well, I love the Jubilee too!
