Fake?
The dial has both "Sea Dweller" and "Submariner 2000" on it. The helium release valve also looks too small. Just a guess... I'm new at this! |

I thought I read something about some early models having two lines of text that were red... but that HEV looks too small to me as well.

HEV was small on the early SD's until the 16660 came out.

The dial is a known fake.
Look at the 'W' in Sea-Dweller, also spacing of lettering is wrong. The fonts are 'off'. BTW, this watch SHOULD HAVE hacking seconds. Mine is a 3.5mill serial no. and is hacking, hence a 5mill definitely is! Don't touch it!! Now here's a good one, though John. |

ebay had a big scandal and legal crises some time ago as you know for there being fake Rolex watches sold. There we arrests and lots of money stolen from people. You would have to think that ebay has set up some procedures so that the Rolex watches it allows on the list are genuine if advertised as such. If this is a fake, someone should tell the people at ebay to investigate before someone gets swindled out of 9K.

That or could simple be an attempt for money laundering.
Just under 10k mark for a fake.

Interesting thought about the money laundering......hmmmmmm. The buyer was a "0" feedback. I emailed him (or her) to have the watch checked out ASAP if they already paid for it. I am growing more and more negative about eBay and their apathy (greed) towards allowing fakes, fraud and conducting business under the piece of sh*t known as Paypal. They are going to have their hands full here very soon when the lawsuits start hittling from all the luxury manufacturers who are having their brands vilolated my Meg and her gang .
