Visit to my AD today, help negotiating PLZ!
I went ro tourneu in Century City Mall, where I bought my SUB TT two years ago. I have been considering buying another watch a YM TT. The price given was the one in the tag, I did not say anything and left saying I'll be back soon. I want to buy a watch, but should I ask for any deal, or AD don't do discount on watches or absorbing the taxes, here in CA 8.25.
If I go back how should I negotiate for the watch, I am pretty good on cars but not on watches. Thanks |

With the big T they most likely won't discount
you can try but DO NOT BUY A WATCH unless you get a discount Unless you have money pouring out of your ears and can spare 10%-25% for nice treatment |

Just Ask
Simply ask, "What is the best out the door cash price you can give me on this watch?" Period. If this AD will not deal go to another AD until you find the one that will give you a better deal. I have not had a problem and have received a substantial discount on the two Rolexes I've purchased through the AD in Bakersfield. I recently purchased my second watch (a TT 16613 Sub with the serti diamond dial) from this AD with a cash purchase discount of approximately (15%). MSRP on the watch is $9975, $9000 out the door, including the 7.25% tax.

Come up to Eugene, cash in hand, and offer to buy with with a 5% or 10 % discount from the ticket. Offer greenbacks...not a visa card...and you won't have to pay taxes. Go to Skeis in Eugene. It will be worth the trip.

Others may not want to hear my diatribe again about Tourneau (do a post search). I hear there are some decent AD's on the West Side who will deal with you. Some TRF members have some pretty good leads in that area.

Yes Tourneau is filled with stuffy salespeople here in NY that look at you funny if you aren't dressed like a person with money...whatever that looks like! And they do not discount Rolex in my experience. I never go to them anymore. Many TRF members have spots in Socal so you should reach out to them

I'm with Dave here too.
Last time I was in NYC I went to a torneau... the saleswoman tried to wind a manual wind watch by shaking it, and then she cracked onto me. Rather unpleasant atmosphere to the whole shop IMO.

Geary's on Rodeo will absorb the sales tax if you seem like you're ready to buy, but both Geary's and Tourneau are impossible to get a real discount from.
I agree that Skies in Eugene is a great place to shop. |

Call Rolex and find more AD's in your area, stay away from the larger Chain Stores like Ben Bridge and Tourneau. You will have a better chance for a discount. Shipping your watch out of state is a great idea to save on tax as well. Goodluck

On a TT you should be able to get a bigger discount than on a SS. ANYWAYS ask for a discount. There a place called AD Les Bijoux in Pasadena. Ask for Alex. He gave me 16% off the SS/plat YM..which is about not bad but atleast they give you a discount. Ben Bridge gives you NOTHING OFF dotn go there. He said the gold ones are bigger discounts. Maybe 20-30%. ALWAYS ask for a discount anywhere you go...youll get it with some leg work. |

The Tourneau store in the Century City mall is arguablly the WORST Tourneau store as far as sales peoples go in the entire country. And TRUST me that is saying a lot. I wouldn't buy anything from that store unless it were free money.
